THE D.Y.O.G. (dig your own grave) RITE
by Sorors Mfecane.888 and Nefarious.000

Created as a sort of Mass of Thanatos, the purpose of this ritual is to invoke the entropic/death aspect, otherwise known as the god "Thanatos." The entropic force will later be used to create and cast a "sigiltor" (sort of a cross between a sigil an d a servitor, to be explained later) for the purpose of introducing entropy to a system/situation of the operator's choice.

During this Mass, each participant will be invoking the godform, rather than one sole operator. The entropy invoked during this rite will be focused into a Saturnine oil with which the sigiltor will be anointed. It is suggested that this oil be pre pared beforehand with herbs of an entropic nature. Each operator will prepare a sigil of their desire beforehand to be drawn in Saturnine oil on a provided piece of tissue paper during the Sigiltor rite.

It is suggested that the statement used be along the lines of "I wish to introduce entropy into.......(desired situation)." This ritual is best performed outdoors in an environment where the operators may dig graves in the dirt.

THE RITE

Statement of intent: "It is our will to invoke Thanatos into this Saturnine oil."

1. Each operator will dig a small "grave" for themselves in the ground. This is symbolic rather than actual, no need to dig six feet under.

2. Operators lie down in their graves face up, arms crossed over the breast in a death-like position.

3. Visualize the godform of Thanatos approaching while the invocation is recited. The form may be visualized in any way the operator sees fit, we each have our own individual death.

INVOCATION:
(This may be stated by the main operator alone, by all the participants together, or all operators may join by merely stating the chorus of "Thanatos" after each word. The invocation may be added to by the insertion of any words the operator(s) feel correspond to death/entropy.)

The portals are open to the death force
on this Hallow's Eve.

4. Still lying on your back, assume the death posture. This may be done easily enough in this position, simply take a deep breath and place your hands over your eyes, covering the nose, mouth, and ears as well.

5. When Gnosis has been reached and the posture held no longer, burst from it and focus the Thanatic force toward the oil which is located in the center of the ritual space.

6. Without banishing, the Sigiltor rite immediately commences:

THE SIGILTOR RITE

During this rite, the operators will be creating a "Sigiltor." This being may be described as something between a servitor and a sigil. It has a certain amount of sentience, but its life force will expire once its one deed is done. The material base for this "Sigiltor" will be a small slip of tissue paper, on which the operator will draw a sigil of their desire with the Saturnine oil charged in the D.Y.O.G. Rite. The purpose of the sigiltor should be entropic in nature, the sigil being a representation of the situation or system into which the entropy of the servitor is being introduced. In other words, use it against something you want to see wind down or die.

Statement of intent: "It is our will to create and cast a Sigiltor of entropy."
  1. Each operator uses the Saturn oil to draw their sigil on a piece of tissue paper. (Also, the Sigiltor may be accessorized with any link which the operator desires.)
  2. Holding the tissue paper up above the back of the head, visualize the Sigiltor as a glass ball containing great amounts of entropic force, and ONLY entropic force. On the surface of the glass, visualize the sigil you have written on the tissue pa per.
  3. As the gnosis builds from this image concentration, allow the energy to flow from your hands into the Sigiltor, which should be waving slightly above the head. When the moment is right, release the Sigiltor, allowing it to fly away without watchi ng its course. At the moment that the Sigiltor is released, visualize the glass ball entering the situation and exploding to release the entropic force.
  4. Banishing by laughter.

THE RITE OF RENDING

Introduction

The idea of this rite is to first evoke, then destroy a personal demon. We are a conglomerate of individuals trapped in one physical body. Some of these personalities we like and some we don't. Of those that are disagreeable, some are necessary an d some are detrimental (your very own demon). The trick here is to find one of the harmful aspects of your personality and destroy it for all time. Be careful of that which you wish to destroy!!! For example, what may appear as harmful may in fact aid you in accomplishing what you desire.

THE RITE

Statement of Intent: "It is our will to destroy our demons."

  1. Choose your demon. Write down a few words which describe it. Be concise, yet precise.
  2. Live your demon. Concentrate intently on the words you have chosen. Read them aloud over and over until you can no longer even remember their meaning. In larger spaces, it is encouraged to act out every facet of your demon. Alternatively, you may wish to visualize an object, person, or animal which represents it. Become it.
  3. Randomize your demon. When adequate gnosis has been attained and you are your demon, count out the number of syllables of all words which you had written down. Roll a multiple sided die (ie. 4, 6, 8, 10), or a combination thereof, in order to randomly choose a number which corresponds to the number of syllables in your words. Thus, if you have ten syllables in your combined words, and you roll an "8", then count each syllable, and single out the eighth one.
  4. Create a Demonic Egregore. The MO should roll a multiple sided die which corresponds to the number of participants. Counting widdershins, whoever is chosen should spell out their syllable. Continuing widdershins, each participant spells out their syllable, until the circle has been completed. After all have been written down, a new word has emerged. This is the representation of all our demons, crunched together in one. If there are many participants, the MO may choose to break the word into two or three parts, if desired. Hishi begins to chant the name over and over. Others should join in. Continue chanting while visualizing this newly created demon. The MO should jot down the word on a piece of paper for each participant.
  5. Invocation: "Demon _________, We call you by your secret name. Come Kali, Come Tiamat, Come Set. We invoke these selves upon you. Kalitiamatset, the secret name of the demon is _________. Bind it with the chains of iron. Pierce its joints with knives of iron and render it asunder!"
  6. Kill your demon. Whilst envisioning the egregore being torn asunder, every participant should rip their paper into little bits. Screams of agony and pain are encouraged. Feel the demon being ripped from your psyche.
  7. Banish by laughter.

THE GRAND RE-OPENING OF RAROHENGA by Frater Palindrome.151

This ritual is based upon the Maori myth of how death became permanent. Stated briefly, Rarohenga is the Maori underworld. It is ruled by the goddess Hine nui te Po, which means Goddess of the great night. It was this goddess who slew the tricks ter-demigod Maui. Before the death of Maui, the door to Rarohenga swung both ways, so to speak. Man was effectively immortal, but was bound to leave the mundane world at some pre-designed point in life and journey to Rarohenga.

While all mankind had to make his home there from that point on, an individual could journey back to the mundane world from time to time, and those who hadn't yet had to relocate to Rarohenga could journey there for a visit if they were so inclined. Maui decided to put an end to this, and went to Rarohenga while Hine nui te Po slept.

He changed himself into a green caterpillar and attempted to crawl into Hine's vagina, intending to burrow through her body and emerge from her mouth. This would have slain the goddess, and released humankind from the necessity of ever going to the underworld at all. Unfortunately for Maui, he had taken four bird-god companions with him; these were Tiwaiwaka (fantail), Miromiro (grey warbler), Tataeko (whitehead) and Pitoitoi (robin). As he crawled into Great Hine, Tiwaiwaka began to laugh a t the sight. This awakened the goddess, who clamped her vagina down on Maui and destroyed him.

From this point onward, it became impossible to enter or leave Rarohenga without either actually dying or at least knowing some very powerful karakia (Maori spells). The purpose of this ritual is to evoke Tiwaiwaka at the moment just prior to his lau ghing, and to stop him from causing Maui's death. In doing so, the participants seek to retroactively reopen the doors of Rarohenga. To aid in the necessary visualizations, a brief description of the entities involved is offered below.

[Seminal Infuence]

Maui: Visualize him in the form of a small green caterpillar, about an inch long, with its head disappearing into the vagina of Hine nui te Po.

Hine nui te Po: A hideous feminine giant, about eleven feet tall, sleeping on the ground with her legs splayed carelessly. She has the body of a human female, with seaweed for hair, eyes made of green stone, and the mouth of a barracuda. Surround ing these two are four birds, as above. It is not necessary to know exactly what all four look like; use your imagination.

Tiwaiwaka will be portrayed by one of the participants. Wherever that individual stands, Hine nui te Po's head is visualized as in front of them.

THE RITE

0. Statement of intent: "It is our will to reopen the barrier between this world and the underworld, Rarohenga."

1. The participant who portrays Tiwaiwaka takes a step forward toward the center of the working area. Camvang should have been selected beforehand, and bears some token to connect camvang to Tiwaiwaka (a feather, a rubber beak...).

2. All visualize as strongly as possible the scene described above. While doing so, they chant in a barely audible voice this karakia, in either English or Maori:

Te Po nuit

Te Po roa

Te Po uriuri

Te Po kerekere

Te Po tiwha

Te Po tangotango

Te Po te kitea

  The great Night

The long Night

The dark Night

The blackest Night

The gloomy Night

The Night only felt

The unseen Night

Keep in mind that Hine nui te Po is a notoriously light sleeper. In all manner conduct yourself as if you were desperately trying not to wake someone up.

3. After they feel that a sufficient point has been reached, each participant stops chanting. Tiwaiwaka takes a second step forward, and begins to act as if camvang were trying to prevent camvangself from laughing.

4. The participants, having been provided with ropes or string of some type, tie up and gag Tiwaiwaka, while repeating:

TAXCHASI WOJITJAX DUBWONG (Shut up foolish bird!)

5. Tiwaiwaka falls to the ground. Maui is visualized as crawling out of Hine's mouth; this is the sign that Rarohenga is opened. As each participant successfully visualizes, they should fall into some type of death posture or trance whilst concentrating on their personal image of an underworld until gnosis is reached. Use a statement of intent beforehand, giving voice to your reason for performing this action.

6. Anokquz.


THE RITUAL OF RESURRECTION

Purpose:
The purpose of this ritual is to bring to life one of our many selves that we've seemed to have lost along the way, or create a new one that we may find beneficial. For example, being too positive may not be a good idea, thus your purpose would be t o invoke a negative-self. And the same goes for being too negative... It is wise to be sure that this self will be beneficial to you, however.

Introduction & Materials Needed:
The idea of this ritual is to search out a person, animal, or object, etc., that holds an excessive amount of the kind of energy you may want. For example, say that Frater Doggie-Style.414.5º has many great sexual abilities. He, then, is the person you'll need to visualize during the ritual if you are seeking to be more agile with some particular sexual exercises. Be sure to sigilize what it is that you want out of the ritual, and have it already pre-prepared. You may also make a fetish, or some such thing, to symbolize your desire as well... Whatever you do, don't be creative-NOT!

Statement of Intent:
"It is our / my will to invoke this new self!"
(Visualize the person, animal, or object strongly while executing the statement of intent).

0) Begin by crying "HUT!"

1) Staring deeply at your sigil, meditate on what "self" it is that you wish to invoke. Visualize yourself with the attribute you desire in a situation where it would be utilized.

2) After a few moments are spent on the meditation begin the mantra: "DANW BELTL YOM!"

3) Continue the mantra and begin spinning widdershins while at the same time visualizing your person/animal/object of your intent descending on you from above.

4) After spinning widdershins and chanting the mantra until gnosis is built, imagine the person/animal/object you're invoking getting closer and closer to you from above . . . as soon as you become dizzy from doing the widdershins and thus eventually falling to the ground, visualize the person/animal/object you're invoking being absorbed into your body as you hit the ground.

5) Banish with Laughter.

CATHARSIS: A SYSTEMATIC BREAK DOWN AND RE-CREATION OF THE SELF By Soror Mfecane.888

At this time, E.P.I.C. Temple has embarked upon a journey of Catharsis. For an indefinite period of time, we will be performing a sequence of rituals and workings designed for the Catharsis of the individual. The word Catharsis refers to an emotional upheaval and transformation. In this context, we use it to refer to a period of complete change and transformation. Any serious transformation will induce emotional effects, hence the use of the word "Catharsis" for this working.

The Catharsis Working is a systematic breaking down of the self through continuous ritual work on a personal and group level. The intent is to get down to the layers beneath the things we magicians are always destroying within our psyche, hence taking away not only the undesired self-aspects, but also the hidden aspects which feed them. This allows for a more thorough banishing of the destroyed aspects and more permanent overall results.

Many rituals are designed for the destruction of unwanted aspects of the self, but few of them are able to get down beneath the aspect itself and kill the foundation upon which it feeds. For this to be done successfully, it is my opinion that a continuous process of such work is necessary.

The Catharsis Working will include the regular performance of group rituals of a change inducing nature as well as personal works on an individual basis. Habit destroying and random belief will also be employed. During the process of Catharsis, the creation and manifestation of new aspects will also occur via rituals and works designed for such. This working will lay the groundwork for a more stable and effective laying of new bricks within the self.


CATHARSIS WORKING 1 by Soror Nefarious.000

This rite is to launch a period of cathartic workings. It focuses on the destruction of the obsessive ties with symbols that develop within everyone. It may be repeated as necessary. Before the ritual is done, symbolic items for each participant w ill need to be chosen, preferably by someone else. Also needed for the rite is a box of a Saturnine nature.

1. Statement of intent: "It is our will to begin the work of catharsis by calling upon Saturnian energy and destroying these symbols."

2. Present symbols. After the symbol is presented to each individual, they tell of the first time they feel that they may have become connected to or identified with it.

3. A box has been prepared bearing the sigil of Saturn plus any other such related symbols desired. Blood is extracted from each participant by any means agreed upon previously, and rubbed or dripped upon the box. As this is done the following is said:

"I shed this first skin."

The symbols are placed in or around the box.

4. The invocation is said by as many participants as is desired. (Yes, at least one should say it).

The invocation is said as many times as desired. During this, movement of the body is begun, becoming more random as the invocation is stated.

5. At the culmination of the invocation, (this can be individual), the death posture is assumed, visualizing void.

6. Symbols are destroyed with laughter: Thus a double banishing. A suggestion: afterwards participants speak as if one another were dead.


THE NEGENTROPICK TEAPARTY by Frater Psyber-Kia.995

Introduction: Boiling the Water and Invitin' Friends

"The level of entropy is the degree of disorder in a given system. This is the reverse of the degree of information that is present. Hence negentropy is the build-up of information, increase of meaning." E.E.Rehmus

"There is a growing tendency in any closed part of the universe... for disorder (called `entropy') to expand at the price of order (called 'negentropy')." G.Zukav

The following ritual is intended to facilitate negentropick expansion in one's general field of experience. Basically, meaning/information = negentropy and confusion/static = entropy. When events occur `out of the blue' in a curiously negative, concurrent, and unexplainable sequence it is entropy expressing itself. Negentropy (negative-entropy), the reverse of this process, would be the addition of information to the system, and perhaps increase the possibilities of anticipating disaster and unwanted experiences in order to make the necessary changes to avert them.

The ritual employs a "Negentropy Teabag", which will be used in conjunction with a daily enchantment mantra for the duration of the working. One possible monogram for the purposes of the rite is made up of the symbol for Mercury (communication and information), Libra (balance and adjustment), and Thurisaz (the catalyst of change and directed force).

  Patient: "What is medicine for my entropick ills?"
Doktor: "It is Orange, in Scale, with Thorn."

Prerequisites:
In a Temple situation, stones are prepared with the sigil engraved upon them. These stones will be put in any liquid to be imbibed as a sacrament for the Negentropy Enchantment Mantra. The ritual also uses an elixir sacrament made of a Vodka base with Yarrow, Red Sandalwood, and Star Anise to consecrate the stones and begin the working. The ingredients used in this Elixir are traditionally attributed to the divined "cure" as stated above.

000. All participants yell or scream as loudly as possible whilst a visualization is built up of a static electrical field surrounding themselves, becoming so thick as to cause suffocation. (This visualization may be assisted by each participant thrashing about sluggishly in the working area.)

00. The main operator yells "FOTCHPANG!" (Order!) and all participants cease the scream, visualizing as they do that the level of static has lessened dramatically or ceased altogether at the cry of the MO.

0. Statement of Intent: "It is our will to reverse the effects of entropy from within and from without, and to consecrate these stones as Negentropick Teabags."

1. Invocation (said aloud by all):

We herald the remission of Entropy!
A lifestyle of decay and confusion is at an end!

Information springs forth into us!

We invoke the Courage
to terminate that which is not in our design

We invoke the Wisdom
to see the Force of Entropy for what it is:
Events that control our living of Life in restrictive ways

We invoke the Strength
to repel the stasis of our Will!

2. Add raw ingredients to Vodka in a cup. Stir (with wand) and intone:

DINTHOQAF FACUPA DIBONGOF!
(Empower this Elixir with my Will!)

3. Plunge dagger into cup and shout:

IXODEFAR FACUPA!
(Shape this Elixir!)

4. Chant the Negentropy Enchantment Mantra with single-minded attention as the mixture is poured through a filter paper with the sigil drawn upon it, over the stones, which sit in a bowl to catch the elixir:

RECEB AP JUNAWAH SINCAGAD
(Come change that rejects the attack of Entropy)

Continue the mantra until this is completed. This mantra will be used in future, when using the Negentropy Teabag (the stone itself) for spells.

5. The Elixir is then passed to all participants and drunk from the bowl. The stones are then taken up by each for later use, unlike most traditional teabags. (When used later, the stone is held high overhead and the NEM recited loudly. The Negentropy Teabag, or stone, is then placed into the bottom of a glass and any liquid chosen poured over it and drunk. Alternatively, the stone may be sucked on, rather than immersed in a liquid, for sperm-of-the-moment needs.)

NOVICE PROTOCOL POSITION PAPER by some EPIC Mentors

The position of Novice is a first step toward membership within the Pact. This period acts as a preliminary screen or filter by which Initiates of the Pact may gauge the potential of aspiring candidates be they separated by geography or participation . Though not yet initiated as a sibling, the Novice is inter- active with the Pact and therefore is entrusted with certain information which is not to be considered for public consumption. In main, the relationship of the Novice with the Pact is through his/her Mentor. It is a position in which information (mostly in the form of the magical record) is passed from the Novice to the Mentor. It may be necessary that the Novice is given certain information, such as particular rituals, workings, and business which may pertain to or affect the Novice and/or the Working Group s/he is connected with.

To use an analogy, the Pact is a polygamous/polygynous marriage in which the Novice would be considered a fiancé. Just as a fiancé is entrusted with a certain amount of information which would not be shared with a complete outsider of the family, yet is not given access to knowledge of inner family issues, so also does the Pact share with the Novice certain pieces of information which are to be considered somewhat guarded though not inner Pact issues.

In the case of the Novice, this information may or may not include Pact rituals and workings, the identities of members the Novice may be corresponding with, position papers and related information which may involve reference to Temple or Pact business that would effect the Novice or the Working Group, and any other information which may be considered personal to the Novice's Mentor. This information may be shared with the Novice where the necessity is felt, but should not be passed from the Nov ice to any person or organization not in active affiliation with the Pact.
