Wright's Barber Shop

10251 Main Street

This barber shop was built in 1930 and served the Bellevue community from the growing commercial center of Main Street. It has always been used as a barber shop, and was originally Wright's Barber Shop. It has been owned by Russell Ward since 1947 and is called Bellevue Barber Shop. Russell Ward's nephew and grandson now operate the business.

This building reflects the original character of the Old Bellevue/Main Street business district. It relates to the study unit theme of commerce. It is one of the few buildings that has continued to house the same use. This building was identified as of primary importance in a 1986 survey of Old Bellevue by Chronicles and Design cultural resources consultant Michael Sullivan.
