Graffe House

9440 Lake Washington Blvd SE

This house, which was built about 1925, is named for the original owner, Calantha Graffe. The subsequent owner, Natalie Hartman, lived there from 1941 until 1988.

The residence had a large back yard with wisteria, a pergola with a roof on it that was used extensively during the summer, a summer cottage, and an accessible beach nearby.

Although the house has been remodeled, it still reflects the Dutch Colonial Style of architecture. It retains much of its architectural integrity, especially on the exterior. The Graffe House relates to the study unit theme of architecture.
