Bellevue Realty

105 102nd Ave SE

In 1918, a L-shape frame structure was built on this site. This housed a cabinet shop owned by J. A. Hadley in the 1930s.

According to King County Assessor's records, the small building, which served as Bellevue Realty, was built in 1939 and moved to this site in 1948. Charles Bovee, a former postmaster who later served as Bellevue's first mayor in 1953, founded Bellevue Realty in 1925. According to a 1927 map, Bellevue Realty was located on the north side of Main Street. This building may date from earlier than 1939. It was apparently moved from Main Street to its current location.

These structures, which now house the Bellevue Public Market, relate to the study unit theme of commerce. They are included in this survey for their history rather than their architectural character.
