Haydn's little-known farcical drama, penned in 1777, was one of the first operas to feature lunar travel. In this tangled tale of love and deceit, a controlling father is tricked into believing hešs on the moon and is ultimately convinced to allow his daughters to marry the husbands of their own choosing. Noel Koran directs. Meena Hwang conducts.

Inspired by Alexander Pushkin's most loved poem, Tchaikovsky's sumptuous "Eugene Onegin" is rich with songs of love, life and the Russian countryside. A romantic and introspective mood prevails throughout this tragic opera in three acts as young Tatyana explores her feelings for the elusive Onegin. Noel Koran directs. Peter Eros conducts.
