    This year we will be working on an embroidery project to learn new stitches and techniques to be put into cards.  This is an idea we are adopting from Pilchuck.

Benefits of Membership

  • Membership open to all interested in the needle arts
  • The Guild maintains an office in the Good Shepherd Center in Seattle’s Wallingford district (4649 Sunnyside Ave N, Room 107).  This space is used to house the library, hold workshops, provide meeting space for various members’ interest groups, satellites, board meetings, etc.
  • Three general meetings each year feature a program or one-day workshops of interest to members.  General meetings are held on the third or fourth Saturday of September, January, and May.
  • Several Workshops per year are taught by outstanding local, national, and international teachers.
  • Satellite Groups and Special Interest Groups meet monthly throughout Greater Seattle and the surrounding area.
  • Fiber Shows:  Each spring we schedule an exhibition of the works of our members.  The exhibitions alternate year to year between juried and non-juried shows.  Entries may be original designs or adaptations completed in the last two years using bobbins, hooks, needles, tatting shuttles, knotting, or twining.
  • Newsletters:  Ten newsletters are mailed per year.  Deadline is the 10th of each month.
  • Extensive Needle Art Library is available for use by members including slide collections, and study boxes.
  • Books may be purchased at a discount, at the general meeting in May.
  • Board Meetings:  1st Tuesday of each month except July and December, 7 - 9 pm at the Good Shepherd Center
