Red Mask Shirt
(completed 3/31/98)
Kwik-Sew Pattern 2205.  I found the same mask print with a gold background at the Sewing & Stitchery expo in Puyallup.  The "tiger" print has little red hash marks.  Brass elephant buttons come from Dana Bontrager's Purrfection Artistic Wearables.
Right Yoke
Dichroic glass buttons by Nancy Geddes ((503) 249-1177, dichronan@aol.com), an artist who used to  engineer optics for Star Wars.  Middle panel is gathered on both sides and includes a sheer metallic gauze over red cotton.  Red metallic Madeira Carat braid is loosely knit so that it curves nicely and lies flat when couched.
Left yoke
Mask on left:  hair is zigzagged with unidentified sparkly black fiber in the bobbin, with green satin stitch on top; earrings are pierced plastic disks hanging from braided embroidery floss.  Mask on right:  hair/crown is DMC gold metallic half-hitched to sequin waste; earrings are beads & charms.
More Madeira Carat.  Stacked cretan stitch with bugle beads adapted from Judith Baker Montano's "Elegant Stitches".   Red fabric with trees airbrushed by Marlis Kuusela of FL-AIR Fabric Design (550 N Hawk Ridge Pl, Camano Island, WA  98292, 360-387-4034).  Stacked buttons held on with gold beads.  Green zebra print left over from Bog Coat.  Vultures machine-embroidered using satin-stitch scallops.
