Events

Our social gatherings are well known for their friendly relaxed atmosphere aided by the fact that they usually take place in or around one of the area's numerous public houses. As well as being informative, our aim is to further good companionship amongst the members of our Society and we are always open to suggestions for subjects to investigate or places to visit.

The 'Return Dinner' 11th April Our formal dinner to celebrate both the return of Mr. Holmes after the hiatus and the societies foundation.

Lawn Croquet 8th June A popular annual event. A traditional Sunday lunch at the "Crawford Hotel", Exeter, followed by an afternoon of lawn crochet,
expert advice will be on hand to those who wish to master this popular game followed by afternoon tea with homemade cakes.

Devon Steam & Horse weekend 19/20 July a Carvery lunch at the Riverside Hotel, Bovey Tracey, followed by a trip in a 1916, Sentinel Steam waggon. and the option of a small trek onto Haytor Rock for the Saterday. but keep your clean clothes for the Sunday when we will be going to the races at Newton Abbot racecourse to find Silver Blaze! AGM and Dinner 22nd Nov We return to the Globe Hotel, Topsham for this annual Christmas lunch and AGM, with Guest speaker The Globe Hotel, Topsham
