Welcome to 2009!

Last years return dinner, at the Nobody inn, saw a few changes to the Poor Folk Committee which have now been confirmed by the membership at Novembers AGM.
Shirley Purves has stepped down as Chairman and David Guest has returned to take up the reigns. With the help of the other committee members who remain unchanged we hope to offer you an exciting year of Sherlockian based
events. David has also instigated an Email based membership list which will mean we can communicate much faster with most of the membership and reduce our costs at the same time (about 60% on mailing cost alone). Of course we appreciate that some of our members are not quite up to speed with this technology yet and we will still be contacting them by mail, as well as sending out the Torr to all our members.

The Committee is now made up of the following:

Chairman ............. ............. ............. .... David Guest

Secretary ............. ............. ............. .....Jenny Bedford

Treasurer and Membership: ............. Judy Marshall

Editor ............. ............. ............. ...........Reggie Musgrave

Committee members are Geraldine Beare, Henry Drew, Tony Marshall responsible for photography and Kevin O'Doherty.
For this years program please see our
events page.

Again may we put in a plea from Reggie for more material for the Torr. I am sure you will agree that the journal goes from strength to strength, but needs a constant supply of canonical copy, Reviews of books or articles you have read, plays or films you have seen, canonical photographs you have taken, programmes on Radio or television you have heard, all deserve an airing. Unfortunately Reggie, our Editor, is not yet on Email, but if you would like to send anything on to the Chairman, David, he will see it is passed on. Of course you could help by giving Reggie a little push in the right direction, as it would be so much easier in the long run.
