1880
Benson Northup settled at the south end of Yarrow Bay.

1882
Patrick Downey homesteaded the south slope of Clyde Hill. This site included the present Vuecrest.

Matt and Lou Sharpe homesteaded in the area that became the heart of downtown Bellevue.

An informal post office was established in Issac Bechtel's cabin.

The pioneers named the area Bellevue, from the French meaning "beautiful view".

Albert Burrows settled in the Killarney area south of Meydenbauer Bay.

1883
The first public school was built by Albert Burrows near Burrows Landing. It was taught by his daughter Calanthia Burrows.

1884
The Hans Miller cabin was built on the site of the present Robinswood Park. It is the oldest structure still located at its original site remaining in Bellevue.

1883
Alvin Goff settled at Highland.

1886
Issac Bechtel's log cabin became the first post office and Issac Bechtel was named postmaster. Bellevue was the name designated for the new post office.

1887
The original log shack Highland School opened near NE 24th and 142nd NE

1888
The Seattle, Lakeshore, and Eastern Railroads came to the Eastside.

The Daniel Fraser cabin was built in the Northup area. It was later moved to Kelsey Creek Park where it is today.

Seattle Fire

Larsen Lake area homesteaded by Ove Larsen.
