VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES WITH CCCS
CCCS relies on volunteers to get commercialism out of our schools--There are many ways you can help!
Key Volunteers
If you really want to make a difference in the commercial-free schools movement, we have openings in these leadership positions. (6-month commitment; experience preferred with additional training provided). Great way to build your own skills, connections, and resume while helping a great cause!
- Fundraising Chair
Develop and pursue fund-raising strategy (direct mail, phonebanking, events, major donor, and/or grants)
- Email Manager
Maintain email announcement list and moderate discussion list.
- Media Relations
Develop publicity strategy (write press releases, develop press packets, coordinate interviews, media appearances and press conferences, update press list, develop media relationships
- Volunteer Coordinator
Recruit, orient, supervise and acknowledge volunteers
- Speakers' Bureau Coordinator
Develop speaking opportunities, schedule speakers, provide speakers with materials
Volunteers
Fit CCCS into your busy schedule with these important, short-term tasks! No experience necessary; training provided. Great way to make a significant contribution to a cause you believe in!

- Tabling*
Staff CCCS table at community events; distribute literature, sign up new supporters, answer questions (2-hour shifts, daytime or evening; often weekends)
- Leafleting
Distribute CCCS fliers at lectures, meetings, community events (1 hour shifts, usually evenings)
- Mailing*
Help get out newsletters and other mailings (stuffing envelopes etc.) (2-hour shifts, day or evening)
- Phoning
Phonebanking* (2-hour shifts, evenings) or phoning from home (varies) for action alerts and other outreach
- Speakers Bureau*
Making short presentations for CCCS at community meetings, conferences, etc. (usually 15-30 min., daytime or evening)
- Clerical
Misc. office tasks including data-entry, filing, photocopying, assembling information packets, etc. (2 hr-shifts, daytimes).
- General
Wide variety of miscellaneous tasks, from sign painting to go-fer to helping set up for meetings. Hours vary.
