"We are the ruling race of the world . . . We will not renounce our part in the mission of our race, trustee, under God, of the civilization of the world . . . He has marked us as his chosen people . . . He has made us adept in government that we may administer government among savage and senile peoples."                                                                                    - US Senator Albert Beveridge (1/9/1900)

"If we have to use force, it is because we are America! We are the indispensable nation. We stand tall. We see further into the future."                                   - Madeleine Albright (3/9/1999)

LOCAL APPROACHES

NATIONAL APPROACHES

In order for sanctions to be lifted, ultimately decisions will have to be made by the Congress and the Administration. Congress and the Administration can be approached in two general ways, directly and from below. Certainly any actions which you take at a lower level (e.g., resolutions, letters, etc.) should be forwarded to Congress and the Administration. If you would like to become involved in direct lobbying of Congress, contact Eric Gustafson at the Education for Peace in Iraq Center (EPIC). Eric is a Gulf War vet who has been working diligently for several years lobbying members of Congress. Eric can be reached at EPICenter@igc.org, (202) 543-6176.
