TWO COMMITTEES WILL REPORT ON POWER DAM

--------
Members Apparently Object Chiefly to Work Being Done by Day Labor --Favor Contract System.

Both the committee on taxation and the committee on city affairs of the New Chamber of Commerce will prepare reports upon the Cedar river dam project, following the discusssion at the chamber Wednesday, when both these committees were represented. The reports are expected this week and will be dealt with by the trustees next Tuesday.

E. Shorrock, president of the Northwest Trust & Depost Company, presided at the meeting and not E. Short, as reported. Mr. Shorrock is acting chairman of the committee on taxation.

So far as can be learned the members of the committee object chiefly to the work being done by day labor, believing that money could have been saved by the contract system.
