Hypodermic needles can be exchanged for free at the table in the alley behind the U. District Post office (1/2 block east of University Way NE — "The Ave" — just south of 43rd Street), operated by the People's Harm Reduction Alliance. Also condoms, bleach kits, AIDS information. Hours:

Over the years, these have been the most predictable and reliable needle exchanges in Seattle, but there are others. For times and locations of other needle exchange sites call 206-205-7837 or 1-800-678-1595. Online, the County government maintains a very thorough listing of currently operating needle exchanges.
