The Art Gallery
on Diversity and the Workplace

Mural on the Berlin Wall, East
Side Gallery, Berlin, Germany
One of the recently restored paintings by the Lackverband. Original idea
ten years ago: The wall had been a taboo and the artists took it over and
transformed it into a piece of art. Christine Kühn had the idea to
integrate the public by letting visitors of the wall, who came from all
over the world these days to see the wall, fix their handprints at her
piece. SO it was an interactive piece of art, a symbol expressing the
world wide connection, reunion and meeting. The title is:
"Touch the Wall". (Which had been totally forbidden during the
GDR period for the eastern inhabitants).
East
Side Gallery is a 1.3km stretch of the Berlin Wall in East
Berlin. The East Side Gallery lives in its diversity and
entirety. It is a project about people, their aspirations and
ideals.
