(CBOs), come together to match current employment openings with job seekers of diversity.
All meetings are free and are fully accessible to persons with
disabilities. Sign language interpreting services are available with one week's prior
notification. Contact a representative from the Diversity

Employer
Panels
Business Panels made up of local employers and audiences made up
of people ready to go to work. In Whatcom County they've
been doing this for 8 years. |
Employers who attend the monthly Task Force
meeting are strongly committed to the recruitment of qualified candidates of diversity. At
our meetings, employers bring listings of their current job openings, and CBOs bring
resumes of their "job ready" clients. Time for CBO-Employer networking is built
into each meeting, and we have found a very high rate of successful job placements
resulting directly from the contacts made at our meetings.
The types of job openings presented by employers range from unskilled, entry level
positions to upper level management jobs. They include part-time, full-time,
temporary, temp-to-perm, and permanent positions. Those attending the meetings represent
small, medium and large size companies and include both public and private sector
employers. Staffing services are also well represented.
One highly successful feature of our meetings is the "Live Resume"
section. Each month, job seekers have a chance to present their unique set of skills and
qualifications to the entire group. They then have the opportunity to network directly
with employers at the end of the meeting - which often leads to formal job interviews and
job offers. |
