The Auction is Almost HereOn November 16 the Seattle Design Center will be the location of this year's "Houses for Play" auction to benefit Seattle Habitat for Humanity. "Last year was the first time Seattle Habitat ever held and auction," says auction chair David Dehlendorf. "It was such a success that we decided to do it again this year with the same theme." Last year's auction raised over $50,000 for Habitat and the goal this year is to top that.
The event will feature music, a buffet dinner, and is expected to include over 300 live and silent auction items. Don James, former head coach of the University of Washington Huskies, and his wife Carol will host the event. "The auction is a great way to pick up some bargains and at the same time contribute to Habitat's work in the Seattle area" comments Dehlendorf. David says the auction still needs volunteers and donated items - those interested can call him at 358-3034. Tickets, which are $50 per person, are available from either Alma Barton at 244-7147 or Dorothy Duggan at 363-2752.
