Gearing Up For The 1997 Auction

Yes, it's that time of the year again! The Seattle Habitat for Humanity Auction Committee is asking for your help! Our goal for this year's auction is $75,000, and to reach this, we need excellent procurement items!

Do you have any "high-value" items to donate to the 1997 auction? Not sure what "high-value" may mean? Here's some ideas. How about one week donation of a time share condominium, or any valuable antiques you may have acquired? Some popular procurement items from the 1996 auction include: frequent-flyer mileage, major sporting event tickets, theater and symphony tickets, any type of "get-away" packages, a year of free parking downtown, flowers for a year, and yes, even a used car in good condition! Not only will your donation be greatly appreciated, but it's tax-deductible as well!

And don't forget, we're still searching for teams to build play houses for the auction. Ask your family, friends, or co-workers to help build a child's play house. We're not asking for master builders, or even certified architects. In fact, you can even pick up a play house kit at your local Eagle Hardware or Home Depot. If you have an original plan, try asking your local hardware store for donations of lumber and supplies. Just make sure your playhouse will fit through double doors so we can display the masterpiece at the auction.

The 1997 Seattle Habitat for Humanity Auction is scheduled for Sunday, November 16th at the Seattle Design Center. If you have any questions regarding procurement of items, please contact the auction co-chairs, Alma Barton (206) 244-7147 or David Dehlendorf (206) 784-8682
