Donating Property, Supplies and Materials

A Donation of Real Property

In-Kind Donations Mean so Much

There are many ways you can help Seattle Habitat for Humanity fulfill its mission of providing low-income housing within the community, and receive tax benefits in return.

Most of you have considered the donation of building materials, construction skills, services and money.

But would you consider a donation of property to be used as a building site?

Real property donations can save Seattle Habitat for Humanity a lot of money and time, thus keeping the total home costs down. We already save by using volunteer labor, donated materials & money, however land is vital to carrying out our mission.

You can help. If the idea of donating real property, either now or through your estate, appeals to you, please call Arlene or Linda at 292-5240.

Seattle Habitat could not continue building affordable homes if it were not for the many donations of building and office supplies. Through our agreement with Second Use Building Supplies, SHfH benefits from donations made of a variety of building materials. Direct donations of building materials are also welcome. Since we do not yet have a warehouse of our own, we often must direct these generous donations to Second Use. We are hoping to have our own warehouse space in the very near future.

With new staff and more volunteers in the office, our need for computers and related materials has been high. Our special thanks go out to Adolfson & Associates and NBBJ for the donated computers and to Autodesk for a donated copy of AutoCad
software. A big thanks goes to Pioneer Reprographics for their help in copying drawings that are too large for our copier. Also our enormous thanks to the Sisters of Providence and Greater Puget Sound Apartment Guide for equipping our office with desks, chairs, office supplies and helping with layout design.

We are still in need of:
  • Vacuum Cleaner
  • Laser printers (to print large 11x17 pages & regular size)
  • Pentium Computer
  • Warehouse Space (Long or short term)
  • Stepladder
  • Adding Machine
  • Fax Machine (plain paper)
    Network Administrator for Windows NT
  • Filing cabinets
  • Swivel office chairs
  • 20 folding chairs
  • Truck or van

Thanks again for all your in-kind help. Call Tricia at the Seattle Habitat Office if you have anything that you think we might be able to use.
