A Tremendous Success! The 4th Annual Auction

Over $70,000 raised for our 1999 homes and families!

November 15th at the Seattle Design Center, about 300 guests enjoyed the International Theme of Seattle Habitat’s 4th Annual Auction. In addition to three silent auctions and a live auction, guests learned more about Habitat’s International emphasis. With the help of colorful flags and descriptive literature, our generous donors are more aware of what their gifts are doing, both locally and internationally.

Honorary hosts Mayor Paul Schell and Pam Schell (pictured left) took an active part in the evening, while auctioneer Kip Toner, assisted by announcer Paul Ford, kept things moving. Trips, jewels, rugs, and more were all available and sold, culminating in Seattle Habitat’s most successful effort.

Plans are underway for the 5th Annual Auction, scheduled for the spring of the year 2000!

Our special thanks to the following Patrons: Karen Sanders, Ph.D., Callison Architecture, Inc., Van Waters and Rogers, Inc.; Sponsors: Davis Wright Tremaine LLP, Continental Savings Bank, Washington Mutual, Centex Homes; and to the Table Captains and Benefactors. We also extend our gratitude to Barbara Toy-Barker, Auction Chair, and to the almost 100 volunteers who have been working for the past six months on the event. Finally, thanks to the auction item donors and the auction item purchasers. Without all your support, the Auction would not be possible.
