Recycle for Habitat

We went through over 2,000 cans of soda pop during the 8-day event. And we're betting that almost 100% of those cans were recycled back to Seattle Habitat.

Aluminum Cans Build -- Habitat for Humanity Homes is a nationwide program in which individuals donate the value of their aluminum cans to area Habitat affiliates. Seattleites can bring their aluminum cans to two participating recycling centers:

WEST SEATTLE RECYCLING CENTER, located just under the West Seattle Bridge off West Marginal Way at 3881 16th Ave. SW (935-4255)

BURIEN RECYCLING CENTER, 16043 1st Ave. SW, 5 minutes from SeaTac Airport, just off Highway 509 (246-2346).

If just 1% of the $1 billion paid out annually to aluminum can recyclers would pay for 250 new Habitat homes each year. For further information, call Jonathan Howe at 935-4255. Thanks for finding another way to help Seattle Habitat!
