Seattle Habitat for Humanity Welcomes Four New Board MembersRecognizing the challenges we face in our ambitious five year plan, Seattle Habitat for Humanity has added four new members to our Board of Directors. These dedicated volunteers hope to increase SHfH's contact with the community and improve efficiency. We welcome Peter DeVeau, Caroline Sayre, Molly Kertzer, and DeAnna Poling. Peter DeVeau serves as the Reverend at the St. John the Baptist Episcopal Church in West Seattle. He joined the Board in November of 1998 and has a long history of involvement with Habitat. Peter volunteered with the Kansas City and Springfield MS chapters of Habitat. Caroline Sayre has had a long association with SHfH in her role as a housing developer for the Seattle Housing Authority. She joined the SHfH board of directors in November of 1998, and she is the chair of the Site Selection Committee. Caroline has an active life outside of her Habitat involvement, staying busy coaching a girls youth soccer team, practicing her calligraphy, and traveling. Molly Kertzer works at Microsoft as Content and International Editor in the Encarta Reference Suite group. She coordinated her unit's participation in the 1998 Microsoft Giving Campaign and is interested in promoting employee volunteer efforts. Molly was first involved with Habitat when in high school and currently serves as the Board representative on the Family Selection Committee. DeAnna Poling is a commercial loan officer for U.S. Bank. Although she's proud of her financial support of Habitat, the Board is her first hands-on experience. DeAnna assists with the corporate fundraising drive and helps out on the Finance Committee. Outside of Habitat, DeAnna supports various non-profits supporting children, education, and women's issues. |
