Thank-you Volunteers!

THANK YOU ALL!!

In celebration of National Volunteer Week, April 18th-24th, we want to thank every volunteer who has worked with Seattle Habitat over the past year. Volunteers serve on the Board of Directors, work with our eight active committees, volunteer in our offices, work on our construction sites, work in the warehouse, and work independently providing pro bono donations of time and skills to ensure that Habitat continues our partnership with the community and our homeowner families. We documented over 20,725 hours of volunteer contributions in 1998 and hope for the size of the program and the quality of the volunteer experience to grow in 1999. Thank you, and keep up the good work!

MISSING PERSONS

Our Annual Report, published in the last newsletter, was an attempt to recognize our many faithful donors over the past 18 months. Unfortunately, due to a computer problem, many of you were omitted from the list. Naming names is always risky as we are bound to leave someone out. Our apologies to those whose names were omitted. We sincerely appreciate your support and look forward to a more complete and accurate listing in our Annual Report for 1998-1999.

WANNA VOLUNTEER?

Come join us at one of our two regularly scheduled volunteer orientations on the second Wednesday of each month at 6 PM and on the last Thursday of each month at 7 PM. Orientations are held in the basement Fellowship Hall of St. Patrick's Church located at 2702 Broadway E. We are currently recruiting volunteers to support our warehouse, office, and committees. Individual construction opportunities will increase as we begin new construction in May, 1999.

To expand our opportunities for volunteers to attend an orientation, we have added three trial midday, midweek volunteer orientations. Spaces are limited, so please RSVP for one of these three orientations.

All orientations will be held between 10:00 and 11:30 at the Habitat office, located at 306 Westlake Ave. N, Suite 210. (It's three blocks north of Denny Way on Westlake Ave. N., in the Trick & Murray Building.)

All volunteers are asked to attend an orientation prior to volunteering.

Volunteers are asked to RSVP only for midday orientations and do not need to RSVP for the evening sessions.

The three midday dates are as follows:

Wednesday, April 7th, 10 am
Thursday, May 6th, 10 am
Friday, June 11th, 10 am

For more details on location and our top ten volunteer needs, please visit our website or call the office for a brochure. http://seattle-habitat.org 206-292-5240 (Thanks to Charles Mason for doing such a great job keeping us 'wired.')
