Seattle Habitat Rents Warehouse

After years of searching and wishing for a warehouse, we are happy to announce that we now have one!

Located at 3605 34th Avenue South, the storage building will support the construction department. Those wishing to donate tools or construction materials should call Matthew Burke first (206-721-7567) to determine our needs. Seattle Habitat will still refer some donations to Second Use
Building Materials.

The 3,700 square foot warehouse has two offices which will be used by the construction staff and volunteers. Matthew, a full-time AmeriCorps VISTA volunteer is responsible for the supervision of the facility. Habitat families will be able to apply a portion of their "sweat equity" hours working at the warehouse. SHfH is also looking for volunteers to help with various tasks including: inventory, tracking, receiving donations, moving materials and performing other important operations. Volunteers with trucks are desperately needed for picking up donations and making runs between the warehouse and the construction sites.

In the late Spring, we will hold a "Warehouse- warming Party". Volunteers willing to work on organizing this event are needed. If you are interested in helping Seattle Habitat with our new warehouse, please contact Matthew Burke at 206-721-7567 or 206-292-5240.

Warehouse WISH LIST

We have already gathered and received some wonderful donations since obtaining our warehouse. Our thanks to all those who have already been involved... and a great big special thanks to our anonymous "angel" who donated money for us to purchase a much needed pallet jack. Thank you all for helping make our warehouse dreams a reality. We especially need the following items:

  • Pentium II Computers
  • Forklift
  • File cabinets
  • A truck or trucks
  • Dollies
  • Two wheeler

Note: It would be very helpful if donations can be delivered to the warehouse, as we have limited access to vehicles for pickup. Please check with Matthew before coming to warehouse.
