Wednesday RegularsTheir group includes former engineers, an architect, a published author, a former heavy equipment hauler, and trail maintenance leaders. They are also counted among our most valued volunteers. They are our regular Wednesday crew. For years they have been providing consistency and stability to Seattle Habitat's construction efforts. They keep our projects moving by patiently dealing with the details, correcting mistakes, and tackling the myriad of smaller tasks that keep us prepared for working with larger weekend volunteer groups. The construction staff relies heavily upon their consistency, teamwork, and ability to come up with solutions to a diversity of construction problems. Many of them have been volunteering regularly with Seattle Habitat for much longer than the current construction staff has been around. They were instrumental in the completion of the Walker Townhomes, the Lexington Place homes, and all of the homes in the South Park project. Lately, they have been working on the trim stages of the two remaining houses at South Park. Their monumental accomplishments of late include cleaning out the storage containers and the surrounding area at South Park and cleaning, painting, and organizing the warehouse, all of which were huge tasks. In the near future they will be working on the warehouse inventory system, keeping its operation organized and efficient, and continuing to be our details crew-being there for us wherever and whenever we need them. So, when you meet one of our Wednesday Regulars, please give them a hearty thank you because our construction staff and homeowners will never be able to thank them enough.
