SUNSHINE ADDS TO THE WARMTH AT SOUTH PARK DEDICATIONS

On March 20th, the sun came out, as did more than fifty people, for the dedication of the last two Habitat South Park Homes. King County Executive Ron Sims praised the volunteers and donors for their commitment and support.

Youthbuild Together of King County was recognized for its dedicated young builders, and Sierra was thanked for providing landscaping design and services.

The Hernandez family provided food for their own dedication, and members of both the Hernandez family and Marchuk family provided the entertainment.

Special thanks goes to The Paul G. Allen Charitable Foundation (sponsor of the Hernandez house) and Marcia Mellinger, Attorney at Law (sponsor of the Marchuk house), as well as family partners Bob Free and Debbie Flynn.

LEXINGTON PLACE DEDICATIONS

April 10th was a time for rejoicing as dedications were held for the Mohamed and Tone families at our Lexington Place property. Darren McGraw represented SAFECO Insurance Company (one of the house sponsors), and he in turn thanked their partner in building, Bridgeway Construction.

Leroy Drake, Leo Cooper, and Chuck Sandiego from Seattle Central Community College were on hand, as were several of the students from the college's Wood Construction Program who worked on the homes. In addition, all individual donors who together provided building materials for the Tone home were thanked by Seattle Habitat Board President Kathryn Kurtz.

Alison Kautz's beautiful voice added to the celebration as more than forty supporters met the families, enjoyed the refreshments (donated by Marriott) and toured the newly completed homes.
