Dept. of Washington Marine Corps League Convention 2006

The 2006 Dept. of Washington Convention will be held from 1-4 
June 2006 at the Howard Johnson Plaza in Yakima, WA.  The 
address for the hotel is 9 North 9th St. Phone number for 
reservations are 1-509-452-6511.  The group reservation number
is CGMCL.  Rooms are $60 a night (single) and $75 a night (double).

Convention book advertising space will be available at the following 
rates:  Inside front or back cover and outside back cover:  $50.00
Full page color: $25.00 Full page black and white: $15.00 1/2 page 
black and white; $10.00

All artwork and fees for the convention book are due by May 1, 2006

There will be a breakfast buffet offered Saturday morning.  The 
buffet will include: Biscuits and gravy, breakfast potatoes, your 
choice of bacon, ham or sausage, fresh seasonal fruit, cinnamon knots,
coffee or tea. Cost is $12.00 per person.
The banquet buffet will include: Baked Virginia ham, young tom 
turkey (I guess they couldn't catch any old ones) cranberry sage 
dressing, mashed potatoes and gravy, fresh seasonal vegetables, 
sweet potatoes, tossed green salad, pasta salad, fruit salad, oven 
fresh rolls, and  assorted desserts, coffee or tea.
Cost is $30.00 per person

The Yakima area has excellent golf courses (just ask Chuck Foster), 
wine tours, shopping, 12 miles of walking/bike paths, a museum, 
theaters and numerous other activities.  Yakima Sportsman's State 
Park and a KOA campground are approx. 2 miles from the hotel for 
those who want to camp.  Our summer weather is dry and generally 
ranges from 80-90 degrees and drops into the 50-60 range at night.  
Great weather for most activities.  Come and enjoy some Esprit de 
Corps in the sunshine.
