He leaves behind a wife, Stephanie; stepsons, Zachary, 12, and Zane, 8; and a 9-month-old daughter, Makenzy. Maurice Twitch ell of Bellevue said his son changed after the birth of his daughter, and that he ''loved that girl with all his heart.'' A nightmare. ``Abraham was a man of honor, valor and integrity. He was a wonderful husband, father, son and Marine,'' said Maurice Twitchell, whose own father died in World War II. ``He served with honor and pride and was very glad to be able to serve in defense of his country and its values of democracy and freedom.'' Twitchell learned of his son's death early Monday morning. ``Any parent's worst nightmare is having a knock on the door late at night and having two Marines on their doorstep,'' he said. He said support from the community has been strong. The flag at Newport High School, where his wife works, was lowered to half-staff following the news. Sara Nichols of Kennewick said her brother liked country music, hanging out with his buddies and wor king on cars, especially VW bugs. `The Brady Bunch' ``We were always `The Brady Bunch' without the maid,'' Nichols said of their childhood. ``It was always the six of us. It seems odd. Now there's a hole. A memorial service for Twitchell will be held tomorrow in Twentynine Palms, Calif.; Abe Twitchell grew up in Lacey and Yelm, where he graduated from Yelm High School before joining the Marines on Oct. 25, 1995. He was assigned to Combat Logistics Battalion 7, as a weapons infantry chief, on July 1, 2005 In addition to his father, wife and children, Twitchell is survived by his mother, Mary Anne Ross of Yelm; and five siblings, James M. Twitchell, Sara A. Nichols, Brian S. Twitchell, Amy V. Wenschhof and Katie E. Bergfeld. A benevolent fund for Twitchell's children has been set up through the Boeing Employees Credit Union.
