BECOME ONE OF THE FEW, ONE OF THE PROUD, THE YOUNG MARINES
The Mount Rainier Young Marines meet twice a month, on Saturdays (11:00am-3:00pm) at the 4th Landing Support Battalion, United States Marine Corps Reserve Home Training Center on Fort Lewis.
The Mount Rainier Young Marines is open to all youth between the ages of 8 to 18.
As of May 1998, the Mount Rainier Young Marines currently has 23 youth in the program. In the summer of 1998, they will be holding another boot camp of 30 more motivated recruits. If you are interested in taking on the challenge, please contact:

The "all volunteer staff" of the Mount Rainier Young Marines consists of active duty, and reserve Marines from the 4th Landing Support Battalion, the Peace Time War Time Support Team and the Marine Corps Drug Demand Reduction Program on Fort Lewis.
The Mission of the Young Marines Program
* To instill in its members the ideals of honesty, fairness, courage, respect, loyalty, dependability, attention to duty, love of God and fidelity to our country and its institutions.
* To stimulate an interest in, and respect for, academic achievement and the history and traditions of the United States of America.
* To promote physical fitness through the conduct of physical activities, including participation in athletic events and close order drill
* To advocate a drug-free lifestyle through a continual drug prevention education program.
