.Profile.
...
| My
full name is Fabiola Ferreira Oliveira, I’m twenty six years old and
I’m from Sao Paulo, Brasil. |
.
...
| Although
Sao Paulo was a very interesting city to live, with lots of movies, theaters,
restaurants and a large diversity of cultural things stem from the immigrants
from around the world and from Brazilians from other regions, I was never
completely happy because I wanted to know more about how life of these
“foreign” people is in their original places. That’s the reason why
I like travelling so much, why I like getting to know other cultures and
why I decided to do my Bachelor and Master out of Sao Paulo city. |
...
| I
graduated in Biology from the Federal University of Sao Carlos in 2003
and after this I got my Master in Ecology at the University of Brasília.
In the same time I travelled to many places in Brazil and participated
at a social environmental program that made me think more about the social
differences. |
...
| At
a scientific congress I got to know Gerhard, now my husband, who is German
and also likes travelling and knowing other cultures and people. |
.
..
| And
during our travel across Latin America I noticed that social problems are
bigger than I had imagined and exist all around the world. |
.
| Currently
I live in Hanover, Germany. I like Germany, especially because security
in the streets is higher compared to Brazil. Exactly because I am in a
place with fewer social problems, I felt the necessity to do something
against poverty and for equality, friendship and justice. One form I’ve
found to help was to use my knowledge of the languages Portuguese, English,
German and Spanish in some of my free time for translations for NGOs and
programs with social and environmental purposes, like Community Empowerment
Collective for which I translate with pleasure into German and into Portuguese. |
.
| Apart
from volunteering, in my free time I like reading, swimming, cycling and
travelling. |
