Sociology has many topics which do not fit into the categories listed on this site. . The few documents in this section do not belong to any of the modules here, but nevertheless are legitimate sociological topics

Eating with Friends," belongs to a topic that is called "Commensality" in Sociology, from "Co" meaning "with whom," and "mensa" meaning "table."  It is the study of who eats with whom.  It has practical applications for community workers, . A "Rite of Passage" is a ritual or ceremony that marks the public recognition of a change in status.  Wolf cubs or brownies often undergo a "Walking Up" ceremony when they graduate to Boy Scouts or Girl Guides. Single people engage in a "Wedding" when changing their status to "Married."
