Volunteer Opportunities

The Seattle Black College Fair gives all students who reside in the Northwest the opportunity to pursue the idea of going to a Black college without having to put out hundreds of dollars to visit the college. The fair is able to provide this opportunity by employing countless volunteers who donate their time and energy for this worthwhile community service. By volunteering your time to this fair you would be directly contributing to your community and helping students in the Northwest. Additionally, the Black College Fair Committee will officially recognize you and you will have the opportunity to interact with recruiters and alumni of Historically Black Colleges and Universities.

Volunteers are currently needed for the following positions:

  • Registration: Greet and assist with on-site registration, sort registration forms, and direct participants to fair activities and collect evaluation forms.
  • Hospitality Host: Set-up and break down the room, monitor traffic flow to insure all access to the hospitality room & relieve recruiters as assigned for breaks.
  • Workshop Monitor: Assist workshop coordinator with room set-up and breakdown. Make sure room is supplied with writing tools, monitor traffic flow and disseminate and collect evaluation forms.
  • Packet Assembler: Assist with bulk mailings the months of September and October and assemble information packets for fair participants.
  • Runner: Assist recruiters with set up or break down of college booth displays. May be asked to relieve recruiters for breaks, and direct fair participants to various event activities.

Each position is important to the success of the Black College Fair. Student service organizations and clubs are strongly encouraged to apply. . Updated: September 2006
