Possible Fragments for a Principles Document

Work towards a collective world body in which everybody can contribute, collaborate and deliberate

Use this initiative to build interest in democracy and community problem solving

Develop "digital libraries" and other shared, evolving resources

Develop "constitutions" and other draft documens and the means by which the contents is discussed and critiqued.

Strive to develop "local" as well as "global" support

Build models and test under "real-life" conditions

Build models that "work" locally -- then we have success even in the "worst-case"

Make a concerted effort to build diverse membership as quickly as possible

Develop support for minority opinions

Work with the widest diversity of contribution modes -- including face-to-face and ICT related

Be sensitive to language and culture

Decision-making technique should be appropriate to decision (or other "thing") that is being developed.

Don't prematurely lock in certain policy, protocol, intellectual models (hard to do!)

Develop from a base of principles and values with goals and challenges of alleviating humankind's historic scourges and forestalling future ones.
