Washington State Department of Social and Health Services (DSHS) now provides the "TAKE CHARGE" family-planning program for low-income residents. Eligible persons receive pre-pregnancy family planning services (including birth control) to help them plan if or when to have children, and the timing and spacing of pregnancies. The state maintains a
county-by-county list of providers.

Cedar River Clinics Clinic specializing in first and second trimester abortion. Teens welcome. Medical interpreters arranged for limited English clients. Payment options for abortion include insurance, Alaska Medicaid, Oregon Health Plan, WA DSHS Medical Coupons. Other services include pregnancy testing, pregnancy options counseling, all methods of birth control (Take Charge provider), STD and HIV testing and counseling. Emergency Contraception
Emergency contraception (the "morning after pill") can
prevent
pregnancy up to 72 hours after unprotected sex. Non-prescription,
believed 75% effective. This

Pacific Association for Labor Support
Provides referrals of birth assistants (also known as "doulas"), who accompany the mother during the birth, help in dealing with labor pains, and advocate for the mother's birth wishes.
Midwives Association of Washington State
Referrals to midwives who do home births and birth-center births. Resources and information for expectant mothers.
Greenwood Midwives
Free pregnancy tests, pregnancy counseling, assistance figuring out how to get insurance, as well as usual midwifing services.
Women, Infants, and Children Supplemental Food (WIC)
Nutritional education and food vouchers for pregnant or breast-feeding
low-income women & families who have children under the age of 5. Available through
numerous locations including
all Public Health clinics.
