Thornton Creek Alliance Work Plan 2005-2006 This Work Plan was adopted unanimously by the Thornton Creek Alliance General Membership Meeting on June 9, 2005 held at North Seattle Community College.
Regularly Scheduled Activities·
Advocacy- Conduct General Membership Meetings quarterly including "educational" offerings.
·- Continue to publish the Thornton Creek Currents quarterly, and provide substantive feature articles of interest to members. Continue the Website

Stewardship and Restoration- Continue to respond to situations and opportunities in the watershed as they arise.
·- Continue advocacy on policy issues to improve the watershed.
·- Continue to respond to queries and serve as a referral service on the watershed.
·- Participate in the Northgate Stakeholders Group and the Thornton Creek Watershed Oversight Committee

Activities- Maintain the Native Plant strip ("Salmon Friendly Sidewalk") along 30th Ave NE between NE 127th and 130th
·- Complete fence installation at Little Brook Park and continue weeding and caring for native plants. 1-1/2 years remains as per the agreement with SPU & SPR.
·- Complete and maintain the Native Plant strip along NE 105th between 35th Ave NE and Ravenna Ave NE (committed for 5 years).
·- Continue to sponsor and participate in restoration and stewardship maintenance work parties in conjunction with other groups.

Planning- Maple Leaf Community Ice Cream Social, July 27th 2005
·- Maple Leaf Lutheran Church Fun Run, July 2005
·- Jazz in the Watershed Fundraising Event at the Berkshire Grill or other location.
·- Annual Thornton Creek Watershed Garden Tour, May 2006, North Fork of Thornton Creek area (Subcommittee: Tom, Chuck, Cheryl and Merilee).

Membership Recruiting- Create a detailed methodology for TCA to be able to provide fiscal sponsorship to selected community groups who receive grants, using Little Brook South Natural Area as a pilot project.

·- Research the program of distributing car wash kits in the watershed -- conduct a pilot effort if possible.

- Hold a celebration and/or party or two!
·- Provide T-Shirts as an incentive and thank you for generous donations.
