Community Information Systems -- Partnership Project The Evergreen State College Partnership Project Description and Proposal Form September, 2002 - June, 2003 Please note that this proposal submission form can also be mailed to us. Please send the completed form to randy@scn.org Randy Groves (randy@scn.org) and Doug Schuler (douglas@scn.org) are going to be co-teaching a 3-quarter (approximately 9 months) Community Information Systems (http://www.scn.org/edu/tesc-ds/2000-2001/fall/index.html) program starting September, 2002 and ending in June 2003. A major part of this program will involve our students (in teams of 3 - 6) working with communities around the world to develop information and communication technology that will enable that community to further some of its aspirations. We're planning to work with 8 - 15 communities. We plan to concentrate on communities that may not be receiving adequate attention in relation to information and communication technology. The proposal form below will help us select these communities. Thank you for your interest! If you have responded to our previous query or if you might be interested in working with us, please fill in the proposal form below and submit it by mailing the completed form to randy@scn.org. We also hope that this arrangement will result in a strong partnership -- we want both the student communities at Evergreen and the communities whom they're working with to give and to receive some service or good, so everybody gains from the experience. Note: The Evergreen State College (http://www.evergreen.edu) is a 4-year non-traditional interdisciplinary college 70 miles south of Seattle. The "Community Information Systems" program is half-time; students are expected to put in approximately 16 hours per week outside of class on course work (especially, but not exclusively, on this partnership project). Nearly all the students in this program are working adults between 20 and 55 years old. =================================================================== Partnership Project -- The Evergreen State College Proposal from Potential Partners Note: The fields whose names are surrounded by asterisks (*Sample*) are REQUIRED fields. ____ Yes!
