Personal background

Chris has not submitted a bio, so here is what I know...

Chris became a member of Enzian Schuhplattler in the early 1970's. He started out as a dancer, but soon became captivated by the button-box accordion, which he quickly learned how to play, astounding the group with his early mastery of the instrument. Not only was he a dancer and musician, at some point in his Enzian tenure, he was also the Vorplattler. He took a couple of lengthy hiatuses from the group during the last thirty-something years, but rejoined Enzian Schuhplattler in September of 2000 and has been our treasured musician since then. Not only is he a talented musician and dancer, but also he has a breadth of knowledge that encompasses a number of subjects. He is known as "Mr. Encyclopedia" and is well loved within the group.

Chris purchased a Strasser buttonbox early in 2006, and it now boasts internal pick-ups, as well. It is a beautiful instrument, with a beautiful sound.

In addition to being our musician, Chris is also a fabulous artist and we have benefitted from that talent, as well. Chris designed our club Quersteg (the crosspiece between the suspender straps on the men's Lederhosen), and we have also used that design on many of the items available on our shopping site at CafePress.com. Chris also designed and painted our Tafel (a wooden sign carried in parades and also used as a table standard), which you can see in this photo of us marching in the Leavenworth Autumn Leaf Festival parade. He also created the design used on our club trading pin and shot glasses.

Chris can be reached via email.
