I didn't start dancing until I was 25 years old because I was shy and self-conscious. With the help of my mom and great-uncle, who played wonderful accordion music, I learned to let go a little and started dancing. I loved the music so much! I also met some friends who turned me on to folk dancing. I never turned back...dancing was in my blood. I have been involved in the Austria Club for many years and have helped put on many dances, dinners, and other events for the Austria Club. That is where I first came into contact with Enzian Schuhplattler. A few years later, I was persuaded to join Enzian in 2001. I have traveled to Germany with Enzian and visited relatives in Karlsruhe on several occasions. I am still enjoying my Enzian family after 12 years.
