6:30        Nancy Orr (general manager) and James Weimann (co-owner), Ballroom in Fremont, will bring in a sampling of their new menu and want to let everyone know that they value them as neighbors

7:10        Councilmember David Della, Seattle City Council (http://www.seattle.gov/council/della/), will talk about the recent issues he has been working on at the City Council. Followed by Q&A

 

7:40        Julien Loh, Community Outreach Assistant, Mayor Nickels Office, will brief the Fremont Neighborhood Council on the nightlife premises ordinance.

 

7:50        Gloria Connors, Connors & Company Inc., will be looking for approval by FNC to allow Red Bull Soap Box Race to take place in Fremont. There will be 25-30k spectators, to benefit local organizations, will work with Police, Metro, Transportation and Community to come up with transportation and emergency plans. Event is Saturday, Sept 29th 12-4pm approx.

 

8:00        Carol Tobin, Fremont resident, will talk about writing a Neighborhood Grant to conduct a survey of the neighborhood. She is asking FNC to be the sponsor and potentially the financial agent for this project.

-          Fremont Chamber of Commerce is planning a joint event with the Queen Anne Chamber of Commerce to celebrate the opening of the bridge. Discussion on the involvement of FNC in this effort

-          Fremont Abbey and its relationship with FNC

-          Discussion on whether FNC should continue or give up the Adopt-a-Street sponsorship of Fremont Ave

 

8:55        Old Business

               

-          Ways to promote and sell the book “Seattle’s Fremont”, funded partly by FNC

-          Guidelines on how to better use and spend the funds available to FNC
