SATURDAY PROJECT...has been named! It is now called the
"Saturday Free
Market" (altho the cognoscenti can still call it "Produce to the
People, Right On!")
Everything is going well, occ. the regular people can't make it,
so some more folks
(mit cars) would be helpful. (Diane & Carmen expressed interest)
There's a
growing sense of community, continuiung need for clothing &
household items, also
they need more produce.

about FNB, if we
write it; Mackenzi & Ben volunteered to do it.

coordinating
sandwiches. She reminds everyone that sandwiches always need to
be list as a
pick up
FINANCIAL: We have $232
FUNDRAISING/TABLING: FNB benefit netted $143 (Much

heard back yet
(DECIDED: Eric D will call them & check on its status)

OLD PERVERTS: Mary Lou instructed everyone on how to create
a
personalized porn star name. Otherwise, nothing to report.
TAX I.D. #: We can use Keith's #.
SPEAKERS BUREAU: Marcia received another invitation for
someone from FNB
to speak at another class. Chris proposed that we form a
speakers' bureau to
handle this stuff
DECIDED: The Fundraising/Tabling committee is now enlarged to be
the
Fundraising & Outreach Committee, including a "Speakers Bureau";
Chris, David,
Red & Mary Lou joined it -- Chris & David will focus on
"speaking")
MONEY DISBURSEMENT
David proposed spending some $$ to replace missing/busted items &
augment
supplies, e.g.: a ladle, more knives, cutting boards, a
push-broom (to sweep out the
park), a new wok.
DECIDED: after inventorying supplies to spend up to $65
within the next 2
week on these items.
BUSINESS CARDS
David also proposed getting FNB biz. cards made up to ehnance our
outreach
efforts. He will do research & get quotes & return to the next
meeting with the
info.
PHONE TREE
David proposed starting a FNB phone tree to improve our contact
skills. He calls
it the "Special Buddy Program", Chris compares it favorably to
the IRA cells &
he'll work on figuring out the details & implementing it.
VAN
It still shows no signs of life & is still near Dean's boat.
Michela reports that
Red's friend Robert will finish the diagnostic and work on it if
it can be gotten
out of the rain.
DECIDED: Red will talk to Robert about it tomorrow at a
social occasion;
Michela will call another possible alternative; Dean will
research the cost of
having it towed to a private house instead of a garage. We will
try to have it in
the hands of a mechanic by the end of the week.
DENOUNCING ERIC D
We didn't.
FUR ACUTION IN RENTON
Chris was contacted by a person organizing demonstrations against
this & asking
FNB for meal support. It will be held Feb. 21-23. Also, all
folks are welcome to
participate in the demo. For more info, call Jake @
206/528-7819.
DECIDED: to cook extra on Sunday the 21st & offer it to the
demo (if they
can get it themselves.) [UPDATE: the demo organizer is keen on
this & will be
coming down for food.]
ANNOUNCEMENTS
Ventura FNB is hosting a West Coast FNB "conference"

we'll all drive down in the van. For more info, contact Jay by

the Tenants Union is holding a picket tomorrow on the
right of 1st refusal
outside City Hall 4pm
the Musicians' Union is holding a picket on 2/11 @ the Seattle Light Opera
NEXT MEETING
Monday, March 1st, location TBD.
Monday March 8 1999
ATTENDED:
Mary Lou, Eric D, Michela, Carmen, Dean, Marisa, Kurt, Dan,
Brian, Sarah, Marcia,
David A, Chris F, Keri,
Red
BUSINESS CARDS
David reported on his research: we can get 1000 biz cards w/logo
for $39.95.
Keri said that she could
produce something ready to xerox off her computer instead. David
& Keri will
confer on this.
COMMITTEE REPORTS
** FINANCIAL: We have about $130 in the kitty.
Marcia has not heard any more about the remainder of the
merchandise that we
bought from Keith.
** FUNDRAISING & TABLING: No tabling this past month. Keri will
be doing a
benefit for Mumia at the
end of the month at which we can probly table. Eric called Tooth
& Nail for an
update about the PSA, but
they haven't gotten back to him. Anyone who wants to arrange any
FNB tabling
should go ahead & do so;
if tabling supplies are needed, contact the house.
** SATURDAY FREE MARKET: has a slightly new schedule. People (&
produce)
meet to set up at Yesler
Terrace @ 11:45am; the giveaway is 12-12:30. They usually run
thru 7-8 boxes of
food, plus some
household goods. About 35-45 people come by. Marcia reports
that they NEED
BAGS (plastic) at the
giveaway!!, also that she was nervous that they would no longer
be getting as much
produce from the Red
Apple in the future; Keri suggested contacting the Seward Park
PCC.
COSTCO
Keri also has a Costco card & could pick stuff up. Carmen will
be making another
trip to get garlic powder,
cinnamon, beans, & oil (she was given $40 from the funds)
VAN
is now running! thanks to even more personal financial
investment from Michela.
It is also insured (thanks
to Dean's work & Michela's dough). Dean would like to
"road-test" any propective
drivers. David went on
record with a quick re-hash of the circumstances leading to our
purchasing a
vehicle without a pre-buy
inspection, which may or may not have revealed the electrical
short. The van is
currently at Dean's, as
are the keys. Dean said that the short seems to have been the
door light which
was constantly being
activated by the faulty driver-side door (doesn't close); he's
disconnected the
light & is hopeful that the
battery won't be drained any more.
SANDWICHES
were left at the hostel last Sunday (oops). Dean Kurt & Keri
made plans to pick
them up tomorrow & pass
them out downtown.
REAL CHANGE
Sarah is now regularly taking pix for RC & she will update the
FNB listing in their
calendar with the
correct contact & cooking info. Marcia also pointed out that the
SF-FNB website
has an incorrect listing
for us; Chris promised to contact them to get it changed.
NEW ADDRESS!!! NEW PHONE NUMBER!!!
OK, so FNB now has an official USPS post office box. The new
address is:
Food Not Bombs, P.O. Box45523, Seattle WA 98145-0523. The new
phone # is:
206/985-2247.
POTATO MASHER
David A strongly suggested getting a huge potato masher; Carmen
promised to
price them at Costco
PAN-AFRICAN STUDENT YOUTH MOVEMENT
Marcia was contacted by this group; they would like FNB to be
involved somehow
in thier efforts to point
out racist recruiting efforts by the US military. Next meeting
was Wed. @
SCCC; Keri & Red would try
to go.
FNB SPECIAL SERVICES INFO
Eric D picked up some stuff on social services at International
Women's Day
WORLD TRADE ORGANIZATION (WTO)
Apparently these biz types who really run the universe are having
a big
kaffeeklatch here in Seattle in
November; other groups are starting to organize massive protests
against them.
Chris suggested that
FNB be part of it. Keri was already at the 1st meeting for this
& promised to
forward stuff from that
anti-WTO email list to the FNB list.
FNB GATHERING
Chris suggested that we organize a Northwest regional FNB
gathering (other
groups do it, why o why
can't we?) Dean proposed that we time it at the same time as the
WTO
conference & counterdemonstrations.
Chris promised to bring a more "formal" proposal
around this to
the next meeting.
NEXT MEETING
will be Monday April 12th (Keri, Brian & Carmen promised to make
reminder calls
about it).
Monday April 12, 1999
ATTENDED: Dan, Red, Michela, Keri, Nathan, Brian, Eric W, Eric
D, David A,
Dean, Chris
COMMITTEE REPORTS
* COORDINATING: The van is really, finally running so i guess
we'll renew the
tabs after all.
We need to set up a pool of willing drivers, for instance: Dean,
Brian, Eric W,
Chris. Dean suggested that
since it has so many difficulties, that all potential drivers get
a little
"orientation". David suggested that
we look for a mini-fridge to store the sandwiches: Michela & Keri
both thought
they had leads.
* FUNDRAISING & OUTREACH: They say they did both. Dan sold a
book!! &
they raised
about $20 this month. Eric W is working with a guy named Brian
from NSGR on
setting up a joint NSGRFNB
benefit Friday 5/28 @ the Tin Hat (some bar). Currently the
line-up is like
4 bands for $4.
* FINANCIAL: We have like $96. David wants to continue to
investigate the
status of the rest of
the merchandise we'd purchased but not yet received. Eric W said
something
about Fallout which i didn't
write down.
OLD STUFF
Keri says the biz cards are still in the works, or maybe not done
yet. We still
haven't heard anything
from Tooth & Nail altho Eric W said he ran into a muscian on
their label that
really wanted to do the PSA.
BOOMTOWN CAFE
is finally opening sometime this summer. What it will be is a
low-low-low-cost
restaurant in the downtown
area. They were having a work party to work on the space 4/17.
Chris invited any
& all FNBers to
participate.
MAYDAY (Almost)
Keri invited FNB to table at the Art & Revolution tabling that
will happen @ UW
on 4/30 in front of the
HUB, 11am-1:30pm.
MUMIA TEACH-IN
Red asked if we could feed at this, which took place 4/17 @ SCCC.
BAGELS
Brian had a lead on more bagels from Shaz who works at Pike Place
Bagels. (He's
from the cheesewheel
state & pronounces it "BAG-uhls". Can you imagine?)
FNB GATHERING
OK, Chris added on more of a presentation re: hosting a NW
regional FNB
gathering, along the lines the
of the recent gathering in Ventura. Since the WTO will meet in
Seattle
11/29-12/3 1999 & protests etc.
are being planned, she proposed that either we have a gathering
on the weekend
immediately before the
29th, or a FNB gathering should be incorporated into the anti-WTO
planning. The
gathering could be
structured sortof like so: music, meals, teach-ins, specifically
like about the causal
relationship of global
economics & poverty, about homeless harassment laws, etc. Also,
because there
probly will definitely be
some sort of police/city harassment & "economic cleansing" of the
homeless prior
to & during this
shebang, maybe we should look at working with SHARE or other
homeless
advocacy groups who might want
to stage another Tent City somewhere near the WTO meeting?
Discussion
centered around the issues of
the logistics of doing a full-on FNB gathering, with most
opinions leaning towards
finding it unlikely. We
decided to try to have FNB be more involved in the anti-WTO
planning, Chris
volunteered to try to get to
the anti-WTO meetings [& promptly forgot about the one on the
24th. Gleep!]
We also more or less
agreed that after Y2K we may all get deported to Oregon, in which
case someone
should hurry up & marry
Michela so we can bring her with us.
SEATTLE FNB BOOK
Chris proposed that we write up a mini-book, with recipes,
essays, history of
Seattle FNB, etc., etc.
WEST COAST FNB GATHERING, VENTURA CA.
Dan reported back from this. He said there were about 200-300
people &
workshops or talks about FNB
politics, consensus building, self-defense, sustainable living.
There was free food,
no info-booths & he had
lotsa fun.
SECOND FEED
There's this new guy in town named Bob who has a house to cook in
& wants to
start a 2nd feed on
Thursdays. If anyone is interested in working with him, ask the
coordinating
committee for his #.
BIOTECHNOLOGY
Zoe wants FNB food support for an anti-Biotech counter-conference
to be held in
Seattle 5/16 through
5/20. (There's a pro-Biotech conference foolishly going on at
the same time.)
PRIMATE FREEDOM TOUR
Will be in Seattle 6/1-4 & local organizers (NARN) are looking to
us for providing
meal support for any of
it. Dan, Brian & Eric W are interested in being involved in
this.
NEXT MEETING
Monday May 10th
ATTENDED: Dan, Brian, Eric D, Red, John, Keri, Nathan, Chris,
David, Kurt, Michela, Mary Lou,
Marisa, Jameson
COMMITTEE REPORTS:
* Financial Committee reports having $105
* Fundraising & Outreach Commitee reports tabling @ Art &
Revolution's May Day on April
30 & sorta tabling at the last FNB house party. Future outreach
opportunities will include: the
Primate Freedom Tour protest & the joint benefit with North
Seattle Grassroots Radio 5/28 @
the Tin Hat.
* Coordinating committee reports that the van is still running
& that we need to start
organizing a pool of willing & reposnsible van-drivers. The van
seems to run hot ("Supa-H" on the
gauge) but the gauge also seems to be completely divorced from
reality because the engine is not
actually overheating.
PRIMATE FREEDOM TOUR
Brian is organizing our cooking at this. Basically we'll do what
we can to provide one or more meals
for the tour as it zips thru town
KNIFE SHARPENING PARTY
We have dull knives. This is bad. We should have sharper ones.
Dan promises to get ahold of a
knife sharpener & a metal etcher for ID purposes.
BUSINESS CARDS
Keri's still working on that.
GENETIC ENGINEERING EVENT
Que loco! We need to organize this!
FOOD INEFFICIENCY
We have not been cooking as efficiently as we might on Sundays.
We decided to maximize our
time by (1) starting 3 pots of water boiling ASAP, even before
chopping vegetables. (2) Do the
fruit salad LAST. (3) Questions? Check the tasklist on the
back of the phonelist
MISREPRESENTATION
A former member of FNB has been posting email to activist lists
that is so vaguely worded as to
imply untrue things about us: i.e., that we are down with
"threatening" people. Discussion re:
consensus decision-making, former members presenting their
'selves as spokesfolk, etc. Decided:
to write an email in response clarifying our position. The
Coordinating Committee passed around a
draft & will post a finished email by the end of the week.
SEATTLE FNB "BOOK"
Eric suggested having a "FNB 101" course or publication. Chris
re-suggested having a FNB book (or
realistically a booklet) with basic FNB info, recipes & whatnot.
Chris, Dan, Eric & John will
(somehow, sometime) work on it.
NEXT MEETING
Monday June 14th 7pm.
COMMITTEE REPORTS
* Free Market: no Marcia so no report here
* Financial: we have about $79 currently & $65 incoming from
benefits etc. Chris asked group
for direction on money: 1: should FNB funds pay for gas in van?
This is estimated as about
$5/week, altho since we've never actually filled up the van we're
not sure. We all do promise to
be very good from now on & keep track of the mileage.
DECIDED: Yes. Also decided to work harder @ fundraising, i.e.
put out donation cans (& then
check them) wherever we can, possibly @ Left Bank, Singles Going
Steady, Fallout, Globe,
Recollection Books, etc.
2: does the group want some sort of guidelines as to what is
paid for with FNB general funds (as
opposed to private individuals' donations): what items do we want
to pay for & consider basics &
which do we consider luxuries? Examples of items that have been
bought with FNB funds:
cookware, cups, spoons, forks, cooking oil, spices, rice. Then
followed a long discussion, some of
the ideas that were suggested: to differentiate "basic" &
"luxury" items & only pay for "basic"; to
determine an operating budget & only buy according to it; to
allow the $$ person to arbitrarily
deicde what fits our needs & what doesn't and reimburse
accordingly; to minimize the level of the
operating budget before we run into the sort of cost overruns
that the Pentagon specializes in.
DECIDED: To table this disucussion until next meeting
VAN
is still running! We recently fixed the tire (which got flat
thanks to a wood screw & unfortunately
discovered that the flat included in the van doesn't match the
axle), also we replaced the
windshield
wipers & changed the oil. (High living around here.)
SAFE SERVING
Chris brought up the issue of all of us at the feed being extra
mindful of using ladles or other
food
handling machinery, not touching the food, keeping our hands
clean, etc., etc.
VIDEO
Some students @ SCCC made a short video documentary about us in
the past month. They
promise to
bring the finished product by sometime.
JOINT BENEFIT WITH NSGR
We had this event in May & raised about $76 off the door & few
sales of buttons & patches. Eric
W
proposed that we don't do any more non-all ages benefits in the
future since so many of us are
all-ages &
it seems unfair & prejudicial. Also, he will be booking some
traveling band in early August & plans
to make
it a FNB benefit as well.
PFI (= PRIMATE FREEDOM TOUR)
Well, they whizzed through town June 1st-4th. We cooked up a
welcoming dinner for them on the
1st &
then on Thur pm when protesters occupied the Prez of UW's office,
Eric W & roommate Jon made
another meal for the all-night campers. Joe of NARN gave us $40
for our efforts.
SOUP
Should we change the amount of soup that we cook in the summer?
Those of us who have been
cooking
thru previous summers suggest it's better to adapt. David
suggested that we see how things go
on a
weekly basis. Michela suggested that we buy an oven?
DECIDED: No hard & fast rule, but maybe we'll make less soup
when it's hot.
MEETING CHANGE
Proposal to change meetings from the 2nd Monday of the month to
the 2nd Tuesday.
DECIDED: to do so, barring strong opposition from folks who
aren't present, starting in July.
SANDWICHES
Need to be picked up every Friday between 3 & 4 pm, since David
will be gone for the next 7
weeks, we
need to expand our sandwich crew. Anyone who is interested
should call Mary Lou.
BIZ CARDS
Keri has them designed! They just need to be xeroxed.
RICE DEBATE
How long should it be cooked? Does it need to be washed? (We're
so confused.)
FOOD NOT FOOD NOT BOMBS
There's a new rival group on the horizon. They've noticed how
incredibly wasteful we are & are
using our
waste (you know that compost we create? And all those
ARTICHOKES!) to make meals to feed
the extra
hungry homeless.
ANNOUNCEMENTS
6/19-6/20: union organizing weekend
WTO is coming HERE 11/29-12/3! Local lefties are starting to
organize, there's sort of been a
split &
"extra" lefties are out there looking for "extra" radical action.
Keri wants to revisit the idea of
having a
FNB gathering about the same time. We talked about Cher, who
would be a revolutionary if she
were
younger. Keri suggested contacting Homes Not Jails. David
suggested writing up a handout for
the
Sunday meals. Keri said the poster ban people should be involved
b/c it dates from the APEC
conference
here & that could be tied in to the WTO.
NEXT MEETING
Tuesday July 13th
ATTENDED: Eric D, Michela, Sarah, Chris, Carmen, Luis, Kurt,
Jameson, Joaquin, Marcia, Brian
FACILITATOR: Chris
NOTETAKER: Kurt
COMMITTEE REPORTS
* Sat. Free Market:
Everything's going well; lots of food available from the Big
Apple; People @ Yesler help out a lot with the
project. Marcia gave out some cloth shopping bags to cut down on
the use of the plastic bags but no one
uses them so she still needs plastic shopping bags to give out.
The project can use more people to help
out, & be back-up for when the regulars are (occasionally)
unavailable. Once again, the total time
commitment is about 2.5 hours on Saturdays. Marcia reports that
at the Juneteenth celebration this
year the Yesler Terrace community council gave FNB an award for
our work. (Cool, huh?)
* Coordinating:
We need more drivers for Sundays! (A lot of the driving has been
devolving defacto on Chris & Eric W
because of lack of volunteers.) The driving can be split up into
parts, like: #1 equipment/food run to the
hostel (12:30-1:30); #2: bring food down from the hostel to the
park (5-5:30); #3 bring equipment & van
back to Ravenna (7:30?-8:00). We provide the vehicle (since the
van is still running.) If interested (or
guilt-tripped enough), PLEASE call the house & volunteer
(985-2247).
We may start getting fruit juices again. Chris has been playing
phone tag with the people @ Hansen's
juices & hopefully this may re-start soon. If so, we'll be
needing someone to regularly pick up the juices
between 2-4pm on Fridays down in Georgetown, we think.
* Fundraising & Outreach:
Coming up will be the July 17th Mumia benefit show in Bellevue.
We were approached about this a long
time ago & altho the terms have changed somewhat, we are planning
to get some food, bring it to Bellevue,
cook at their kitchen (they asked us to do so because of health
code reasons) & serve it up & table at the
show. Brian, Jameson & Michela will cook, then Chris will meet
them in Bellevue to table. Eric suggested
that we ask Framework for gas money.
* $$$$
Currently we have $188 in FNB funds. We've earned about $88 in
the past month, from tabling at the
Tchkung! show, the rest of the money from NARN for the Primate
Freedom Tour, misc donations & we
now have at least one donation can out in the world, earning
about $1/day (@ Roma).
OK, we tabled this discussion last month so here we go again.
The question is what do we spend our $$
on? Our expenses have DEFINITELY exceeded our income. Should
there be a priority list for expenses?
What is it? Chris presented a projected annual budget of $1135,
based on previous expenses &
projections for a year. [= $44 for PO box; $240 for gas; $45 for
tabs; $300 for insurance; $100 for
misc van repair; $98 for hot drink cups; $34 for plastic spoons;
$20 for plastic forks; $18 for black
Pepper; $22 for Canola oil; $33 for misc. spices; $33 for brown
rice; and $148 for 15% contingency
expenses.] Michela proposed that we pare the budget down to
cover van gas, tabs, insurance, hot bevvie
cups & plastic spoons; Jameson added that if we have additional
income than we use it to buy anything
else, as needed.
DECIDED: To adopt a FNB spending budget of $824/year, which
covers gas, tabs, insurance, cups &
spoons, plus 15% contingency. To cover this, we need to bring in
$69/month. If we garner more than
that, we also decided to spend it on whatever other expenses crop
up, as needed. Marcia volunteered to
pay for the PO box & suggested that FNB members can just
volunteer to adopt an expense. We may revisit
this issue later, as we get more sure of our numbers.
DECIDED: To try to do way more fundraising. We may look into
re-applying for the PCC grant. We
should get more donation cans out there. Eric W is looking into
setting up a benefit show in August
sometime altho he's not here so we have no details.
SHARPENING KNIVES
Hey, haven't we talked about this before? Sarah has a knife
sharpener. We should have that knifesharpening
party we've always dreamed of.
TSHIRTS
Marcia reports that they are still in the works. She spoke to
Keith who said that someone else (in CA.?)
was the person responsible for shipping out stuff. She is
continuing to follow up on this.
TOFU CONTAINERS
We need more!!!! Our usual source (Bastyr cafeteria) is using
less tofu during the summer, which means
that they're creating less tofu dish "waste" from which we
profit. Please encourage everyone you know to
eat more tofu & then to donate the (washed) containers to us.
WTO
This means the World Trade Organization, the behind-the-scenes
people who are into controlling
everything about everyone's lives in the world (approximately).
The 3rd ministerial conference will be in
Seattle Nov 29th to Dec 3rd & anti-WTO organizing is starting to
happen now. FNB should definitely be
involved in organizing against this, especially as it seems VERY
likely that the city will "clean" the streets
prior to the conference. Possibly FNB Seattle should organize
daily feedings at protests & hook up with
other FNB groups to do so. The next anti-WTO meeting is for Wed.
7/21 7pm @ Left Bank distro;
following that there is a meeting of the "Street Theater/Direct
Action" committee set for Sat. 7/24 11-
3 @ the University Baptist church and FNB representatives are
STRONGLY invited to attend.
LITERATURE TABLE AT FEEDS
Mary Lou (who is not here) wants us to start having a lit table
again at the feeds with info available about
places to go, public services etc.
FNB GATHERINGS
There's one in Winnipeg July 19th-25th. For info call
204/783-5175.
There will be another international gathering in London Ontario
in September.
TABLING AT SHOWS
Luis thinks we should do more of it, like at the upcoming
something show at the RKCNDY.
KEITH McHENRY
Carmen reports that she's been corresponding with him recently &
that he's been going through some
rough times in the past few months. He is currently in Kansas
City & she urges everyone to maybe send
him a line or something (contact her for the address)
SEATTLE FNB BOOK
Yep, we're still planning this, you bet. Our proposed contents:
* History of Seattle FNB
* Recipes, like those wacky foods we've actually made on Sundays!
* Safe serving practices (adopted from the Health Code book)
* A-Z of fruits & vegetables & what do to with them
* Interviews with Seattle FNBers/sortof our credo, like "Why do
you do this?
* Vegan guide to NW microbrews
* Graphics, yeah?
* Whatever
All suggestions/submissions are welcome. Please contact Chris,
Brian, either Eric or Dan with your ideas.
NEXT MEETING
Tuesday August 10th 7pm

facilitator: Kurt
COMMITTEES
* Sat Free Market
Michela went the prev week, it was great!, basically it involves being at the Red Apple
@11am & then
bringing it all to Yesler Terrace. Needs: more people to get involved! immediately!

We need someone to make phonecalls for the next meeting
Sandwich pick up is OK right now
Main driving on Sundays is still sorta sketchy

Kurt reports that we haven't been tabling much, there are upcoming shows...
* $$$$
In July we had income totaling $107/outgo of $24. So far August income is $47/outgo is
$107. Total
amount in the FNB "coffers" is $172. The donation cans we have out in the world are
reaping in benefits.
WTO
Apparently the WTO is still planning on having their ministerial conference here. Michela
suggested that
we invite other FNB groups in to help with extra feeds, and that it's time to start looking into
getting
more food. (Madison Co-op? Rising Sun?)
Decided: We oppose the WTO, we may have daily feeds during the conference, poss at a
tent city
VAN
All drivers, be warned! We should have seatbelts for all passengers! Also, we need to paint
the van.
Question re: usage?
Decided: to only use the van for FNB needs or poss in exchange for mechanic services.
POLICE
Have strted visiting us again....starting with the 8/1 feed.
Decided: To keep it clean! Everyone should wash their hands & wear food handling gloves
at the
feeds. Also, we should keep up the (very good) work of cleaning up the park after.
SUPPLIES
We're running low. Chris will arrange a Costco run with either Keri or Carmen.
COOKING PRIORITIES
We need to keep things moving, because we're starting to run behind on a regular basis.
Suggestions:
prioritizing cutting of veggies for cooking, better & faster sorting of produce, slice bread at
the feed.
Mary Lou strongly recommended against having self-serve foods, or only if available with
tongs or ladles
or whatever.
SHARE
serves coffee 5 days a week, 6:15-7am, Tuesday-Sat. at the new copshop @ 8th & Virginia.
Lately they've
been visited by the police & some coffee-drinkers have even been ticketed for jaywalking!
Chris
reccommends that we all get up at this ungodly hour & join them (if possible)
DYKE ACTION/SAFECO STADIUM
Just before the meeting, we got a info-gathering phone call from this group. They were
wondering if we
would be interested in participating in a protest of the new Safeco stadium & promised to
keep us
informed.
LITERATURE AT FEEDS
Mary Lou said we used to have lit. available at feeds, can we do it again? Maybe in a crate?
Kurt said he
would work on a display board or rack for the feeds.
CUPS
We decided to get plastic cups for cook drinks. Also we need to work on getting the dishes
back as much
as possible (we're running low again.)
NEXT MEETING
