Fremont Urban Neighborhood Coalition
What is FUNC?
The City's Neighborhood Planning Program, a program under the Comprehensive Plan, provides funding and resources for neighbors to be involved in planning the future of their community. On May 8 1995, the Fremont Neighborhood Planning Coalition met to discuss such a planning effort in Fremont. An organizing committee was created, including representatives from the Neighborhood Council, the Arts Council, the Chamber of Commerce and residents of Queen Anne and Fremont.
The organizing committee is applying for a grant from the City for community involvement and identification of neighborhood issues, and will work on outreach activities. At a Community Planning Forum in 1996, a planning committee more representative of neighborhood diversity, replaced the organizing committee .
