FREMONT URBAN NEIGHBORHOOD COALITION (FUNC) PHASE II SCOPE OF WORK For Development Of The FREMONT NEIGHBORHOOD PLAN |

October 14, 1997

A. INTRODUCTION
Purpose of this Document |
FUNC is ultimately a creature of the Growth Management Act (GMA - RCW 36.70A). Under the GMA, the City of Seattle adopted an updated comprehensive plan that includes a neighborhood planning process to supplement the comprehensive plan. FUNC is one such neighborhood planning effort. Under the City's planning guidelines, FUNC has prepared (through the Phase I process) the following scope of work. This scope will be reviewed by the City and used as the basis for preparation of a contract scope of work to prepare Fremont's piece of the City's comprehensive plan.
Fremont's Vision Statement |
FUNC wishes the community's agreed upon vision statement for this neighborhood planning process to be kept in a visible position. Fremont's vision of its future consists of four points: |
• We live in a clean, healthy, natural environment with open, multi-use green spaces. • Our community is safe, vibrant, and friendly and encourages and supports cultural, artistic, and economic activity and diversity, with an abundance of diverse and affordable housing options. • We enjoy an accessible variety of basic goods and services in a genuine pedestrian culture, linked to public transit options. • Our community is a web of interconnected small businesses, artists and artisans, industry, and residents who contribute to each others well-being. |
