What do visitors think of  Our Garden of Dreams?

Subject: Beautiful Garden-1 June 2000

Dear Peter and Carol, I visited your lovely garden today via your well crafted web site. Good to see that you too have got the pond bug, and a wonderful job you have made of integrating then into your plot. Good to see such clear well defined photographs, and the gazebo adds so much character. Of course I have bookmarked and shall be returning from time to time. Thank for a most entertaining time. Happy gardening.... Regards, ~Terry~ South Yorkshire, England.

I have just spent a very enjoyable hou wondering thru your garden via cyber waves, what a delight and joy it has been. I am not sure what I enjoyed the most the tulips, rhodos, ponds, gazebo it was all so lovely. Your planting and climate are similar to mine, I am in Twizel a small town in the middle of South Island of New Zealand. I have a new garden, started 6 years ago with the main planting only being in the last 18mths. We are just coming into winter, so I do most of my gardening on line touring  other like your own. Thank you for the chance to see such a beautiful garden and so peaceful, I could almost hear the birds singing...unfortunately couldn't get he frogs to sing for my they must be shy heheh.

Thanks again.

Happy Gardening

Hello Peter!!, 14 Apr 2000

I found your pond site and I am blown away.  It is so beautiful.  I have
been researching waterfalls for two years and yours is the best by far.
Great job!!

My husband and I are just finishing up our first waterfall and pond.   Now
it's time to think about landscaping.  The plants you have around your ponds
are beautiful.  I love the lilies.

I was wondering if you could tell the name of some of the green plants and
lilies that you choose.  We live in Yuba City California, 50 miles north of
Sacramento.  We do have pretty warm summers, and on occasion it freezes
during the winter.

Any plant ideas you have will be greatly appreciated.

Thanks for sharing you beautiful Dream Garden.

Sincerely
Traci

Dear Carol and Peter, 20 Dec 1999

Gabi just showed me your beautiful garden on our computer. It is just a  piece of art really. You are amazing! How could you built such a pretty garden, and also put it on the  computer with such a superb quality! If we ever buy a house w. a garden I will ask no one else but you about  gardening tips. Maybe over the internet!!! Thank you for sharing with us! Ilona

Subject: Marvelous!!!!!!!!, 8 Oct 1999

Peter, I can only hope and 'dream' that my gardens and yard will be as beautiful one day.......................I need a number of years in gardening under my belt first! :-)

Thanks so much for sharing your spaces with all of us on the internet!! Unfortunately, my yard is too small for such an exquisite site as your water gardens. I may have to move, taking my plants with me of course!

Subject: MOST BEAUTIFUL GARDENS !!!!!, 29 Apr 2000

I hardly know how to start------your gardens and watergardens are by far  the most beautiful that I have ever seen. My husband and I have been in to watergardening since 1986, so we have planned many vacations going to places to see various watergardens. We have NEVER seen anything as beautiful as you have shown on your web site.

We are aware of the work that must have gone into this creation, and  want to compliment you on this beautiful garden.

It gives us all inspiration to keep going with our own gardens.

Thanks for sharing--------

Hi. Enjoyed the photos in your site after using the link in one of your posts in GardenWeb.

Could I ask you what camera-lens-scanner combination you're using to produce your photos? And film speed you use. Or are you using a digital camera?

Thanks again, Glen, Canadian prairies

I came across your pond website...your ponds are awesome. We've worked hard to make our ponds look great but you are an inspiration. I'm an artist...and I can see that you are too...only you work with water, plants and soil. Great job!

Subject: Re: Do you have a web page? - 29 Oct 1999

Just wanted to thank you for sharing your site address. Wow-- your garden is beautiful!! Are you a professional gardener/ landscape architect? It's hard to believe something this amazing could be created by an amateur. I like the background wallpaper-- its obvious you are talented not only in the garden, but in web site design as well.

So-- you mentioned heavy newspaper + cedar chips for weed control-- is that what the walkways are constructed of? Your garden looks so lush and natural. We have plans for both a pond (currently under construction) and a gazebo (maybe next year)-- but have little hope of such a lush outcome here in the semi-desert southwest (annual precipitation 10"-11").

Thanks again for sharing your site!

Maggie

Hi, Peter: Thank you for thinking of me and sending the most magnificent photos. I knew you had a garden, but had no idea is was so expansive and beautiful. How proud you and Carol must be of it. I have forwarded your photos on to two friends that I know will enjoy them, also. Thanks so much for sending them. They are breathtaking.

Betty

Hi, Just wanted to tell you how much I enjoyed looking at your ponds and I  can see that a lot of work has gone into the 4 ponds! Wow! I am very  impressed! I had 110 tons of topsoil dumped in my front yard last  spring and had to more three fourths of it as the dump trucks couldn't put in where I wanted it because of power lines! I did it everyday  almost and amended the topsoil so everything would do well. It is looking pretty good for the short time it has been there. I have a very  large rock garden and am reading and thinking about digging a pond( just one please!) and don't mind the digging part as I have done plenty of  that( have nothing but horrible clay here) as every flower bed has to be dug out first --then topsoil added and then amended! But I love it and it is all worth the hurting back at the end of the day! I am reading several pond books from the library and if I can make one that  looks half as good as yours I will be happy!

Subject: Your beautiful garden!

Hi Peter:

I really enjoyed the tour of your garden. We left two formed ponds behind, and moved to 2 acres with almost 1 being a pond, and brought a third pond liner with us (we never got it planted) I am surely inspired by your gardens. We are about 2 miles from Topsail Island NC. We don't have the beautiful natural firs like you do, but we do have some pine and native yaupon hollies, and wild magnolia or sweet bay here. I brought a bunch of my water plants with me, but don't know what to do with them just yet. The pond does have some water mocassins or water snakes, which I am afraid of so I won't be wading in it. Just went out in the canoe in it after Hurricane Dennis left a lot more water. The water level fluctuates so much, it went way in during the drought this summer, so I a wondering if I need to put my plants in man made ponds unless I could be some sort of doughnut flotation devise that I could set my potted plants in. We had a lot of trouble with algae this summer in the pond. We had to treat it, so I put all my water plants in two childs wading pools I purchased until I can figure out what to do. I may have a new email address in two weeks. Just got on two weeks ago, signed up and not happy with our provider. They have something messed up so I can't receive mail but my husband can, so I'm writing under his name until we find a new provider hopefully in the next couple of weeks. Just moved here less than 6 months ago. Take care, and I hope you are recovering nicely from the radiation. Your creations, pictures and gardens are out of this world! Marti

Subject: Your Gardens... -10 Oct 1999

I just saw your web page from a post at GardenWeb, and wanted to say how beautiful it looks! We also live in the Pac. Northwest and I'm slowly trying to transform a very plain lawn into more gardens... less grass. I started with a plain lot, lots of grass, and a small veggie garden. Now the veggie garden is 20' x 40', we've added apple trees, blueberries, huckleberries, several perennial beds and trees, and my next project will be to add a small pond next spring. Your photos give me inspiration to keep going, even though my husband would rather just mow the lawn than have plants and flowers and trees.

Thanks for sharing your beautiful pictures, and hope to see you around the GardenWeb more,

Andi

Peter, I just came from your site--how jealous I am. Your acre seems so much bigger and everything is just beautiful. The photos came out so clear. I just started ponding last year and this past season enlarged it already!! Now I have 6 goldfish. I also love to grow lilies. Besides those I also have lots of hybrid daylillies. Thanks for the show!!!

Happy Thanksgiving!!

Your pond is really beautiful and so is the landscaping and the gazebo---it all blends in so well. A very beautiful and peaceful look to the entire area. I am from Washington State, altho I have lived in so.Calif. for many year, I have many wonderful memories of Washington. I was born in Enumclaw and also lived in Lakewood on Lake Steilicom (I know that spelling is totally wrong!). Thank you so much for sharing your beauty!!!  - Don ...'s companion.

This is THE BEST garden and landscaping I have ever seen. I read a lot of gardening magazines and landscaping magazines and have done so for many years. You should contact some of these magazines and submit your pictures. I'm sure a lot of peole would love to see it as much as I have. I am very new to gardening though because we just bought our first property. Could I ask you some questions like where did you start...and different questions of this sort? I would appreciate any help I can get at this point. AGAIN, your property is beautiful. Debbie W. in MS

Thank you for letting me look at your beautiful garden - a real joy Your plant combinations are just lovely and I love the way you have set out the paths I have just put in a pond but the ducks ate all plantings so I will have to try again this coming spring/ Aug and Sept. My next project is a Gazebo, I am currently looking for plans that a dummy can build. Yours looks great and sits beautifully in the garden Thank you again for lots of inspiration Best wishes to you and yours GayT
