2000 Annual Meeting Held
The annual meeting of the Horizon Crest Community Association
took place on Wednesday, February 16, 2000 at 7:00 p.m. at the Factoria Mall Association Meeting Room next to Petco in Factoria Mall.
New board members were not elected. In other words, all the previous
board members were retained!

Clean Up Weekend is a Hit
The neighborhood completely filled the three
dumpsters provided by HCCA funds. In fact, one dumpster was filled with
yard debris in one day.
HCCA BBQ a Success!
We had a terrific summer BBQ! Lots of kids and hotdogs/hamburgers. The day
started out with a few small rain showers. But then the sun came out and right
before the picnic time, the weather brightened up, and was beautiful.
1999 Annual Meeting
During the last Association meeting, we discussed neighborhood improvements
proposed by Bellevue, the Association’s financial state, and new Association
officers were elected.
1999 Officers Elected:
President:
David Lewis
Vice President: Vince Brown
Treasurer:
Toby Hurlburt
Secretary:
Carrie Lowenson
Newsletter/Web: Kimball Williams
Treasurers Report:
Number of members - 1999 (as of the meeting): 47. See Sign Up form to join.
Number of members - 1998: 121 out of a possible 228 - a new record!
Neighborhood Enhancements:
EC2: A trail that runs alongside the creek. A number of members
are against this one because it runs right past their homes. People could
look in, no privacy. There could be issues around "taking" of
people's property for the trail.
EC9: Put a sidewalk down 150th (or is it 151st?). The sidewalk
would be across the street from the house that has the small
"dollhouse" on its property. This enhancement was liked by all.
If people have questions or concerns about the Neighborhood Enhancements,
they can contact Kari Page, who works on/or runs this program for the city.
Ideas for 1999 projects for the Homeowners Association:
Brick sign at bottom of hill on 48th is falling apart. Possibly fix
it?
One of the islands on SE 49th Pl. has become very overgrown. Some of
the neighbors want to hire it out to get it cleaned up. Instead maybe it
could be a project for clean-up day?
Miscellaneous items:
The city will be redoing the bad sidewalks in our neighborhood sometime in
the next 18 months.
128th Ave in Factoria will be renamed "Factoria Way" after the
improvements are completed.
Lakemont Blvd. will open in June.
A community center may be constructed on Newport Way in the park across the
street from the Library. (Over by where the tennis courts are). It
may contain a Senior Center and/or a Boys and Girls Club.
