Spring Cleanup Report
The weather cooperated for the annual Horizon Crest Community Association Spring Cleanup which was held on Saturday, May 10th.
As a free service to all residents of Horizon Crest, the Community Association arranged for two large yard-waste bins in the area. By the end of the weekend, both bins were completely filled, and about six tons of yard-waste were hauled away!
Residents on 159th Place SE did a fantastic job of completely redoing the island near the corner of SE 49th Street, removing all of the old ground cover and planting grass!
About 15 people came to the main western entrance island and helped with planting, weeding, trimming, and raking!
Countless other residents spent the day doing major trimming and cleanup in their own yards (taking advantage of the free yard waste bins).
The yard waste bins were such a huge success, that next year HCCA will be placing three bins in the neighborhood for the annual Spring Cleanup!

Neighborhood Roster Published
If you paid your 1997 membership dues before the end of August, your new Neighborhood Roster is enclosed with this newsletter. A limited number of additional rosters are available to residents who pay their 1997 dues before October 31st.
The roster contains a list of residents both alphabetically and by street. Additionally, a detailed map of the neighborhood is included, showing general lot boundaries and street addresses.
Names and phone numbers of members were compiled from membership payment coupons received with dues payments. Names and phone numbers of non-members were compiled from past rosters and numerous other public sources.

East Entrance Sign Replacement
There has been discussion lately about replacing the sign that used to mark the eastern entrance to the Horizon Crest neighborhood at the 4800-block of 158th Avenue SE.
If you have any thoughts about the sign replacement or ideas about where it should be placed, contact any HCCA board member. This issue will also be discussed at the General Membership Meeting on October 23rd.
