Welcome to District 20! Our boundaries stretch from the Puget Sound to the west, the south side of N 65th to the north, Lake Washington to the east and I-90/Atlantic Street to the south. We have business meetings on the second Monday of the month.
The District 20 business meeting happens at Swedish Hospital on Broadway. The district meets in room 2 on level B, across from the cafeteria. It begins at 7pm and ends at 9pm. The most convenient entrance is at the back, off of Minor Avenue.
The district meeting format generally includes: discussion of the once concept a month, group representative check-ins, reports from our officers and coordinators, old business (which are issues or projects the district is working on) and new business which can be projects or issues the group representatives want to start working on, discussion or voting items for the Assembly meetings, or material that has been received from the World Service Office or Area Coordinators.
The district meeting is also a forum to organize projects that may not be done at the group level. An example of such a project is the district 20 bus sign campaign. Starting in 1998, District 20 has received contributions and has placed 100 signs per year on Metro buses. The Public Outreach message "Is your life unmanageable? Maybe you have been affected by someone else's drinking" is seen on buses throughout the greater Seattle/King County area.
