Our Mission

The Hemophilia Foundation of Washington is a volunteer, non-profit service organization dedicated to improving the quality of life of families affected by bleeding disorders and complications of those disorders, including HIV/AIDS.

More information

The Hemophilia Foundation of Washington (HFW) sponsors the following programs and activities:

Newsletter: Through our newsletter, the Missing Factor, we give our members information about social, medical, and legislative topics related to hemophilia and its treatment. The newsletter also includes information on upcoming HFW meetings and events, as well as relevant local, national, and international topics.

Annual Summer Camp: Every year, we sponsor Camp I-VY, a weeklong retreat for children with bleeding disorders and their families. Twenty-four hour medical care is provided. The children experience the fun of camp while learning more about hemophilia and meeting other children with hemophilia. Adults attend workshops, meet other parents of hemophiliacs, and share their personal experiences and anxieties.

Fundraising: Continual fundraising efforts provide our operating revenue. Memberships, memorials, and donations also help our fundraising efforts.
