SCN Helpdesk Downloads

The information here provides freeware program downloads and links to developer sites where the latest versions of these programs can be found. These programs have been tested for compatibility with SCN when applicable, and they are regularly used by Helpdesk volunteers.

Helpdesk Volunteer Software Picks - These selections are generally for Windows 95, 98, NT, 2000, XP. Windows 3.1 versions are available from the websites.

Tera Term Pro. Connect to SCN with telnet or dialup. SSL add-on available. Version 2.3	Download Website
Hyperterminal. Connect to SCN with telnet or dialup. Comes standard with Windows. Upgrade available if you have early Win 95 version. Download from Hilgrave site only.	Website
Filzip. A free file compression utility. Note: Winzip is and always has been shareware and must be registered and paid for after evaluation. Filzip, and other freeware do not require registration or fees. Version 3.0.	Download Website
Arachnophilia. Html editor that's been around for a while. Author has a speech about Careware; stop whining for any length of time and you own Arachnophilia. Version 4.0. Newer versions available but this one seems right to us.	Download Website
PC-Pine. Text email client. POP3 is less good but functional, IMAP works great. Same look and feel as SCN Pine. Version 4.58	Download Website
