How to Subscribe to an SCN Mailing List

Leave the subject line blank. Put the word "subscribe" in the body of the message, followed by the name of the list.

To: majordomo@scn.org
From: you@your_email_address

subscribe somelist

Other Majordomo Commands

You can also send other commands in the body of an email message to majordomo@scn.org. Commands in the "Subject:" line are NOT processed. Majordomo understands the following commands:

subscribe
Subscribe yourself to the named list.

unsubscribe somelist
Unsubscribe yourself from the named list.

lists
Show the lists served by this Majordomo server.

which
Find out which lists you are on.

index somelist
Return an index of files you can "get" for the list. These files may include archive files and other informational or binary files. (For list members only.)

info
Retrieve the general introductory information for the named list. (For list members only.)

get somelist somefile
Get a file related to the list, such as an archive file. (For list members only.)

who
Find out who is on the named list. (For list members only.)

end
Stop processing commands (useful if your mailer adds a signature).

help
Retrieve this message.
