
Our greatest legislative concern this session is the budget. Deep cuts to human services are planned to balance the budget. A more balanced approach of eliminating tax loop holes is advocated. For information see: www.oureconomicfuture.org.

Monday, February 21
Last day for bills to clear their policy committees. [Also, in the House this date has been moved up to February 17 – except that the Speaker on his own motion (without a vote) can extend this internal deadline to February 21.]
Friday, February 25
Last day for bills to escape the fiscal committees. [Also, in the House this date has been moved up to February 21 – except that the Speaker on his own motion (without a vote) can extend this internal deadline to February 25.]
Monday, March 7, 5 pm
Last day for bills to be passed from the chamber of origin
Friday, March 25
Last day for bills to clear the policy committee in the opposite chamber
Friday, April 1 (no joke)
Last day for bills to pass opposite chamber fiscal committees. [Also, in the House this date has been moved up to March 29 – except that the Speaker on his own motion (without a vote) can extend this internal deadline to April 1.]
